"YOU WANT TO GIVE UP A MARRIAGE TO A PRINCE TO MARRY A KNIGHT?" Father was not happy with me, I knew I shouldn't have told him.
I glanced over at Callen, who wasn't much help either.
"I agree with Father, Kensalina. Deeks is not a royal! And you barely know the man!" He said standing up out of his chair.
"You will marry Jack and that's final. Camelot is counting on your marriage to make peace with enemy land, Kensalina. You have no choice." Callen's voice was stern, I've never heard my brother speak to me that before. It was disturbing.
"You're dismissed." My father said shooing me out of the hall.I walked to the dining room, where I was presented with a plate of chicken and bread.
I ate my meal slowly, and tried to think of any possible ideas to stop my marriage. I was thinking for a good half hour when Veronica, Callens wife walked in and placed Samuel in the high chair beside me. She sat down in front of her plate and started to eat.
"What's on your mind, princess?" She asked sweetly.
I laughed and picked off a small piece of bread and threw it in my mouth.
"I think I'm going crazy," I whispered.
"I'm dreaming of a life with a man that's not my fiancé." I say before throwing another small piece in my mouth.
Veronica handed Samuel a piece of bread, and looked my way.
"I loved another man before I married your brother, you know." She said. She lifted up her metal cup and took a sip of wine.
I looked at her in shock.
"Really? So I'm not the only one!" I said hopeful. She laughed and took a bite of her chicken leg. She wiped her face and hands, and swallowed.
"His name was Sir Eric. He was one of the smartest, yet one of the more clumsier types, if you know what I mean." She paused and looked at Samuel, who was fascinated by a grape."I don't regret marrying Callen, but I loved Eric for the longest time. I finally told myself it was time to let go, and I did. Unfortunately as women, we don't have the privilege to have mistresses, like the men can have."
I take another bite of bread and look at Samuel."If it weren't for Callen and your family, My country would have been destroyed. And I would never have had the privilege to have Sam today, if I never married."
I glance out the window to spot Sir Deeks fighting another knight.
"I've been having dreams, or flashbacks if you will, of being Sir Deeks wife. I mean we have kids together, our own house...our own fantasy! I can't give up that life for," I throw my arms around gesturing the castle, "this!! I'd rather live a happy life in poverty, than a sad one in wealth."
Veronica looks at me and nods her head.
"I know in your heart you'll do whats right, Kensalina, I believe in you." He smiled and left the room, taking Samuel with her.
"No one is making this easy!" I say stomping my foot.

I slid the arrow into bow and draw, focusing solely on the centre of the target. I close my eyes and let go of the bow.I open my eyes again to see that the target has hit centre mass. I draw another arrow from my back, and shoot again. It hits centre again.
I hit centre mass every time, until I'm at my last arrow. I'm about to release, when I hear someone coming up behind me.I swing around keeping the bow drawn, pointing it towards my enemy.
Deeks puts his hand up in surrender.
"I saw you here alone, and I thought this would be the best place to talk." He said, keeping his arms above his head.
I turn fast and shoot at the target, hitting it in the centre, for the last time today.
"You've for great aim, princess. Remind me to never be in the woods during hinting season!" He said with a laugh.
I walk over to the target, and start retrieving arrows one at a time.
"What did you want to take to me about, Deeks?" I ask keeping my back towards him.
"I wanted to talk to you about, uh marriage."
