"What do you mean you lost them?" The King yells as he slams his hand on the handle of his throne.

"I want you to bring back my daughter! I don't care if you have to handcuff her and throw her in a cage!! I want both of them brought back here! NOW!" He yells.

The knight bows his head.

"Yes your majesty. Right away." He walks out through the large doors, leaving only Callen and the King.

"She'll change her mind, father. She's far too young to understand true love." Callen says as he sinks into his throne.

"You better be right, son. We have a prince waiting for his fiancée to return from running off with his brother!"

The Kings face begins to turn red. "Being me Deeks. I want the honour of killing him myself."

"It's been hours, Deeks! These horses need rest!" I say as I hop off Fern.

Deeks quickly hops off his horse and ties it to an exposed tree root.

Deeks ties up Fern and joins me under a tree.

I snuggle into Deeks' side and close my eyes.

"You're not still thinking about your brother are you?" I say with my eyes still closed.

"No. Yes. Maybe, just a little."

"Don't," I say as I sit up to look at him in his eyes.

"He can give your everything, Princess. He can give you money, protection, heirs, horses, breakfast in the royal courtyard."

I look at him, clearly unamused.

"Maybe I want to get those you things, but I don't have that kind of money. I'm never going to be him."

"This," I pause. "This is all I've ever wanted. Before I knew what being a princess meant, this is what I've always wanted. I've been promised to men with a lot of money, Deeks. I don't care where I have breakfast. As long as you're there."

"Come here." Deeks says before planting a kiss in my lips.

The sound of a twig snapping breaks us apart.

Deeks jumps up and quickly grabs his sword hanging from his horse.

"Who goes there?!" He yells with his sword drawn.

"I come in peace!" A small voice says from behind the tree.

A small boy, no older than five comes out with his hands above his head.

"I've lost me mother!" He says.

I quickly get up and approach the little boy.

"What are you doing out here all alone?" I ask as I bend down to my knees.

"Mummy has picking her some flowers, she told me I had to stay in the backyard. I saw a deer so I went snuck away when mummy wasn't looking."

"Ah! You poor thing! Do you know where your house is?" Deeks asks as he puts his sword back.

"I'm not sure where I came from ma'am. But I live in the village of that helps!" He says with a smile.

"We'll help you get home, honey." I say as I stand up and grab his hand. "You can ride with me on my horse, Fern."

"I've never ridden a horse before!!" He says clapping his hands together.

Deeks helps him onto the horse after I've gotten on.

"Thank you mister." He says as he sits in front of me in Fern."

"So?" The boy says as he begin riding towards the village.

"Why are you wandering around in the woods? Daddy says bad people hide in the woods."

Deeks lets out a laugh.

"Daddy is right," Deeks pauses. "I never caught your name."

"My name is William." He says with smile.

"I'm Deeks, and that is Kensalina. But you can call her Kensi."

"What were you saying about Daddy?" William asks.

"You father is correct, William. You should never wander around the woods by yourself. Ever. You're very fortunate that we were the ones to find you!"

"Your mother must be worried sick!" I exclaim as we make our way to the edge of the forest.

"How old are you?" I ask after a couple minutes of silence.

"I'm seven." William says quickly.

"Did you two run away?" William asks out of the blue.

"What makes you think that?" Deeks questions.

"You two look like people mummy and daddy have working at our house. But you two are much nicer."

Deeks and I look at each other before Deeks answers.

"Our master, died recently. And we've been trying to find a new place to live."

"Ahh, that's too bad. I'm sorry to hear that." William says as he ride into the centre of town.

"WILLIAM!" A cry for behind us yells.

Deeks hops off the horse and lifts William onto the ground.

"Mummy!!" William says running into the arms of his mother.

"Thank you so much for bringing back my son! I'm eternally grateful!" She says as tears run down her eyes.

"How will I ever repay you?"

"We are looking for a place to live-"

"My husband happens to own an old house near the edge of the forest! Let me grab the deed to it. It's all yours." She says as she runs into the house and comes out with her husband.

"Thank you so much for bringing back my son." The man says shaking my hand.

"We can't accept this-" I start before being cut off.

"I insist. We've never even  been to visit that old place. We are forever in you debt."

The lady hands me the deed to the house.

"Thank you." I say as I give the lady a huge hug.

I look around the village and see that Deeks and I seem to fit in.

No one is wearing fancy ball gowns or suits. The woman wear their hair in braids and buns.

This is the life I've always wanted.

And I get to spend it with an amazing man.
