It's been a few weeks since Sammy started his job and apparently it was harder than he thought, the amount of musical pieces he had to write in such a short amount of time was insane. At this point he wasn't quite sure if he was suited for this kind of job after all. He didn't even had the time to double-check what he'd composed, which made him pretty unsure about the quality of his work and on top of it all the ever so lovely and caring Mr. Joey Drew spontaneously decided to add a new character to his Bendy cartoons - Alice Angel.
Normally this wouldn't be a big deal for Sammy Lawrence, he actually didn't care about the toons, but this one was special because she was the first character who actually sang. Which meant that now he had to not only compose instrumental pieces, he also had to write the lyrics for the angel. Although he wouldn't want to admit it, but writing lyrics wasn't one of his strengths, that made his whole situation even more stressful.
Plus from the next week on he also had the new voice actress around him every week to do rehearsals, go through the lyrics, pre recorded some lines and so on. So he would have the time to exclusively work on his stuff, he now also had to take care of the new actress. This was just too much, Sammy didn't even worked there for a month and now he already should introduce a new person into the studio he barely got to know himself? Unacceptable.
After all he only knew his own department and not even to the full extent, he mostly was either in his new office which was a bit too far away from the instruments for his taste. So he mostly stayed at the orchestra room to have easier access to all the instruments he needed and because he was mostly alone in there he didn't bother anyone either. But these were pretty much the only two rooms, except for the entrance hall, he was familiar with. He really needed to talk about Mr. Drew about this situation. And so he did, after a while thinking about whether or not it was a good idea to talk about that topic, he decided he had to do it, if he wouldn't, had probably overwork himself and that wouldn't be good for anyone.
He didn't want to end up like one of the employees years ago, who was found lifeless at his desk, he didn't knew if it was only a rumour or not, but he didn't want to risk it.
At the lunch break, he stepped into the elevator to ride to there very top of the building where Mr. Drew's office was. Sammy was already pissed that he had to sacrifice his break for this, but what should he do. He knocked at the office door, nothing. After a while he knocked again, this time he got a response, "Come in!" Shouted someone from the other side. Sammy carefully opened the door, and stepped into the room, inside of it was Joey Drew himself in the middle of the room at his huge desk made out of dark wood, surrounded by high shelves filled with books and drawings scattered all over the place. "Good Morning Mister Drew, there's something I have to talk about." Sammy said nervously. "Good "Morning" Sammy" Mr. Drew said teasingly, considering it was already past noon, "please sit down, what's the matter?". Sammy walked to the chair, sat down and began to talk "I have to talk about the new actress which is beginning to work in the music department from next week on, I feel a little overwhelmed-", "Oh no need to be concerned Samuel, a pretty young girl like her shouldn't make you nervous, you're a fine young man after all." Mr. Drew cut him off. Sammy stammered "Ah- that's not what I meant, actually I'm not sure if I'm capable of taking care of her, because-" Mr. Drew laughed "I know, I know. You don't want to make a fool auf yourself infront of a Lady, but no worries, you got this. Now get out, I have a meeting for lunch and I don't wanna be late!" Sammy was very confused, he tried to explain what he'd actually meant, but Mr. Drew didn't even listen to him anymore. Sammy felt like his boss didn't even care about what he had to say, he didn't listen at all and he couldn't even explain in the slightest what exactly were his concerns, after this conversation he even felt more nervous and stupid than before. He let out a small sigh and left the room immediately, he returned to his department and though about the conversation for the rest of his lunch break.
