You Left Me In A Heartbeat - A Sammy And Susie Fanfiction

A few days passed since the incident with Mr. Drew and Sammy got more or less used to the thought of the new employee which will start working in his department in just a few days. Nevertheless he tried to be as productive as he could in those last day of peace.

Unfortunately the Janitor, Wally Franks, seemed to like Sammy a lot, so he hung out in his department a lot, told him stories about the gross stuff he found within the studio while cleaning, played around with the instruments, though he didn't had any experience in playing them, all in all he was a very loud and clumsy person. At first Sammy wanted him out of his room, but now he thought that this guy might be the perfect preparation for next week, plus he kinda enjoyed his presence, it wasn't as lonely as before. Maybe all of this wasn't as bad as he thought.

The week passed as normal and finally the day arrived when Susie Campbell first started to work at the studio. Sammy got up early today to make a professional first impression. He put on his best, but also casual clothes, styled his hair as always and took the subway to the studio, luckily they were working today, it still was very hot outside, but not as hot as several weeks ago.

When he arrived, he started to clean up a bit, even though Wally was in his department very often, he didn't bother to clean it up.

At exactly 9 o'clock Sammy stood in the entrance hall, than she came in, the most beautiful, elegante and cute girl he'd ever seen. Susie wasn't like other girls and that's what stood out to Sammy, she stood there in a bright yellow, short summer dress and had short and wavy light brown hair that was slightly bleached from the summer sun and she wasn't the smallest girl, which was exactly what Sammy liked, more to love. 

At this point he was completely lost in his thoughts and even if he wanted to say anything he couldn't, it was like if he lost the capability to speak, luckily Susie introduced herself first. "Hello, I'm Susie Campbell, I'm the new voice actress. Nice to meet you!" Her voice was high, but soft and clear, perfect for a singer. Sammy needed a moment to process everything, but then finally decided to speak "My name is Samuel Lawrence, but you can call me Sammy, everyone does that here. I'm the director of the music department, so we will probably work closely together from now on." He tried to cover his nervousness as good as he could and he made a pretty good job. Susie chuckled, gosh she was so cute, Sammy thought.  "I'm looking forward to it, Sammy." 

As Mr. Polk showed him around on his first day, Sammy did the same with Susie. His nervousness also more or less disappeared after a few minutes talking to her. Both of them had so much fun, it felt like they knew each other since years, Sammy felt really bad for not wanting her as a co-worker at first, but now he was glad that Mr. Drew threw him off so quickly, maybe he knew that both of them were made for each other, or maybe not, whatever it didn't matter. 

As they first reached the recording room Susie's eyes immediately began to sparkle, Sammy's heart dropped when he saw her like this, normally he wasn't that kind of person who believed at love at first sight, but he already knew that she was the woman he was going to marry someday. 

She also had just like him many questions about the workplace, hers were mainly about the recording room, the acoustics and so on, luckily Sammy had a few weeks to test everything out, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to answer any of her questions. After what felt like the thousand question Susie asked, which by the way he didn't mind at all to answer, he finally decided to ask, "What do you think if we'd just test out the recording room, you could sing a few lines to test out the microphone and I could hear you sing, so I know what I'm working with" Susie's eyes sparkles even more and with that Sammy's heart dropped also even more, if that was even possible, at this point he felt like he would just die right here, right now. "Oh Sammy that would be wonderful!" Susie said, "I always wanted to sing in a real studio and now my dream finally comes true!" He smiled "give me just a minute to adjust the microphone, than we can start."
