[Hari's POV]
Wait what? I look up in shock, wondering if I misheard him. By the embarrassed and flustered look on his face, he did actually say that. Well wow. That was the last thing I had expected him to say. "Wh-what?" Was all I managed to stutter.
Kai grumbled something before saying "No- ignore everything I just said. I mean it is wrong to like you, and I know that, I just can't help it. It's fine if you don't like me back! I mean you probably can't really trust anyone and that's fine. If you don't like me, that's ok. I can wait." I wasn't sure by what he meant by this and tilted my head. "I mean... I can wait for you to learn to like me. God- I don't even know if you like guys but to be fair, I didn't know until like... this morning or something."
Kai chuckled slightly before continuing. "If you don't like me then I can wait for you to like me. I can wait forever." He smiled sweetly, making it heart skip a beat.
That stupid smile of his. I could never say no to him. "I.... You're right that I don't like you. But that's just because I don't really know how to like people... But I'm sure I can learn. I'm sure I can try. We can try."
I stared down at my lap, scared to meet his gaze. I was never very good in these situations. Well I was never in this situation but that's not the point.
[Kai's POV]
I couldn't help but grin uncontrollably. I mean... I wasn't even supposed to say I liked him. That was spur of the moment kind of thing but it worked out in the end! I pat Hari on the back "Well that's good enough for me! As long as you try, I'm happy." Sure they may not be a proper couple, sure they can't show affection around anyone else and sure Hari may grow to never love him, but this was still a start. A good start in the right direction.
