Chapter 12 ~ Beginning

[Third person]

Kai stood up and smiled at Hari. "I'll get someone to help heal those cuts. I suppose this is our talk for the day, I'll see you tomorrow." Hari felt his heart drop slightly at that but decided not to complain. He couldn't control the disappointed look on his face though. Kai noticed it and sighed. "I can't spend too much time around you. People who work here are slightly iffy when it comes to getting close to patients. I don't want them to figure it out because I may loose my job for it."

Hari nodded. He understood what Kai meant, and he really didn't want him to lose his job over him. He didn't want to be selfish. It's not like the world revolved around him or something. "I-I-I understand. Don't worry about it... see you tomorrow?" Kai nodded and turned to walk away, but it was as if some unseen force halted him.

"Are you ok? D-did you drop something?" Hari looked up at him and tilted his head, raising an eyebrow. Kai balled his hands into fists and turned back around, looking at Hari. He felt slightly intimidated under his stare and felt anxiety crawl up his spine and wrap around his neck like a rope. Was he lying about earlier? Was this all a test? Or has he changed his mind? Has he only now realised how pathetic I am?

Hari looked down at his lap and began to fiddle with his hands, trying desperately not to cry. Kai realised that he was panicking and hissed. "Hari I- I have no idea what you're thinking right now, but don't worry. I just wanted to leave you with something." Hari looked up at Kai, quickly blinking away the tears. What would he possibly want to leave him with?

Kai brushed his hair out of his face and lent forward so that their faces were very close together. Hari stiffened slightly at the touch and felt his face warm up. "Is it ok if I leave you with a kiss?" Hari couldn't form any words and felt slightly embarrassed to admit that he did want a kiss. He just nodded his head and closed his eyes.

Kai liked seeing his cheeks all red, they made him look cuter. But he couldn't just stand around and stare at his face all day, he needed to give him what he wanted to. Kai leaned further forward and pressed his lips to Hari's. At first it was kind of awkward since Hari had no reaction, but after a few seconds he kissed back. His lips were so soft and Kai felt like he wanted more. He pushed his tongue against Hari's lips, asking for entrance and was pleased when Hari let him. Their tongues danced for dominance before Kai pulled away, breathing heavily. Why did humans need to breath anyway? He had to end that sweet moment to breath. Damn lungs am I right?

Hari was also panting slightly, his cheeks a bright red and his mouth still slightly open. He didn't want that moment to end and when Kai pulled away, he felt like he had lost something. Something dear to him. Kai brushed his hand on his cheek and smiled as Hari leaned into his touch. "Well , I've left you with something. I'll be going now. I will see you tomorrow, we can talk some more ok?" Hari nodded and rubbed the back of his neck. It still felt like Kai's lips were on his and he liked that sensation. It was unlike any of his previous kisses. It was better. Far better. Far sweeter.

Kai waved to Hari before leaving the room and closing the door behind him. This was such a mess. He covered his bright red face with his arm and sunk to the floor. He never should have said anything. He should've just kept quiet about his feelings. He rubbed his thumb across his lip and smiled. It was quite nice though...
