Clarke's POV
I sat at the side of the bed, the bed that has been mine the last three months. This place got rid of a lot of bad memories, now I was going home.
I would see my mother, Bellamy, Octavia, Raven, and most importantly Lexa. My heart hurt every time I think about her breaking down like she did yesterday. I hurt her. She didn't do anything to me and I hurt her.
I was already dressed with my bag and supplies packed. I only got a few hours of sleep, too many thoughts going through my mind to fall asleep.
"Clarke?" I heard and knew it was Niylah. "Is everything okay?" She said in a whisper, sitting up in the bed.
"Yes, just couldn't fall asleep. I thought I would get everything together and packed up." I stated.
"Everything is going to be okay Clarke." Niylah sighed and moved to sit next to me.
"I don't know Niylah, just by the way Lexa looks at me I can tell I hurt her. I can't imagine what the others are going to think of me." I said, looking down at the ground.
"They might not be happy, but they can't hate you Clarke. You are their leader, and you all are a family." Niylah stated. "It'll take time, but at least you going home."
I stayed quiet as Niylah got up and began to get dressed. She packed her bag with her things, making sure she had everything.
Last night, Lexa had offered Niylah to come with us. I could tell that it wasn't the easiest thing for Lexa to offer but that was the type of leader she was. Lexa wanted Niylah to stay with Octavia and the new clan to build it. Niylah knows the area very well and as long as she could help, she could join. So she did.
The three of us ate breakfast and got everything together to leave. We each had a bag to carry full of supplies to take with us. It wouldn't be a long journey, only a few miles, but we wanted to bring everything we could with us.
"It should only be about 3 to 4 miles south." Lexa said. "As long as we walk down the beach we should run into them."
"Sounds good. We shouldn't have problems with walkers. They don't group up due to the waves and ocean pulling them in and out." Niylah said.
"Let's get going then." Lexa said.
We walked for a few hours, no problems but a few walkers. Nothing we couldn't take care of. We spotted two men by the edge of the woods and beach. One drew out his sword and the other pulled back an arrow with his bow.
"Put your hands up." I heard Lexa say to us and the three of us did. They probably couldn't see who we were due to the distance.
"Octavia!" We heard one of the men yell.
Not a second later came out the girl I haven't seen in a long time.
"Guards! Weapons down! That's the Commander!" She stated, running over to us as we walked.
Octavia put her sword back into its sheath, which was on her back. She had changed since the last time I saw her. She was dressed in Lexa's people's clothes and her hair was braided back. She smile at Lexa and they gripped each other by the forearm. This was the way of respect but they pulled each other in for a hug. I didn't realize that they would become so close.
"I'm glad you're safe." Octavia said to Lexa.
"I'm glad you are too." Lexa responded and they pulled away.
Octavia's eyes hardened when she saw me. Her jaw clenched with anger and I could tell this wasn't going to go well.
"Look who's finally been found." She spat coldly at me.
"Octavia.." I started but she cut me off.
"No! You don't get to talk. Do you have any idea what you put us through?"
"I'm sorry Octa-" I tried to say.
"I almost died because I was trying to find you!" She yelled.
"Octavia! Stop!" Lexa yelled, everyone getting quiet.
"Why are you defending her?" She asked Lexa.
"Enough." Lexa said, no emotion.
"Yes, Commander." She nodded, but stared at me coldly.
"We have more important things to attend to. Now, Octavia, show me what's been done. Guards, take Clarke and Niylah to a place where they can settle." Lexa stated and Octavia lead the way to the woods.
"This way." One of the guards said and we walked over to an empty tent. I looked over and watched as Octavia and Lexa walked into the biggest tent in the area.
Octavia hates me and so does Lexa. How am I supposed to make it up to them?
