Once the countdown ended that's when I was flung across the room, being so close to the machine I was able to feel a kinetic energy pulsating and being released from it causing me to hit my head against the walls of the concrete room. I felt the warm blood trickle down my face, I was trying so hard on focusing on regaining my vision, desperately trying to shield the back of my head all while attempting to dodge the heavy equipment that was soaring in every direction possible. I scanned around me and quickly grabbed on to some steal pipe lines that ran across the sides of the room, only for mere moments I got glimpses of my other fellow scientist that were being tossed around like rag dolls, some unconscious and some... lifeless. I've never felt more helpless than in that moment, 'Please forgive me..' I whispered under my shaky breath.
The last thing I remember was seeing, him..
He was hovering above the ground, I could see the energy zapping into his body as his veins glowed from beneath his skin, it was as if a slideshow was playing right before my eyes, to see such a transformation of what was once a human to.... Monster. It was nothing I have ever seen, just before I was able to witness the end result I was struck with a heavy metal object, causing me to become unconscious. That's when I woke up to the sounds of paramedics rushing me through the hospital doors.
