Chapter 4 Spit & Vials

-Akira's POV-

The feeling of excitement danced throughout my body. I felt my heartbeat racing from my veins, this long, exhausting journey was finally going to pay off. Our lives were about to change any minute from now!

I stuck my head out from the sunroof of our limousine, my eyes wandered the fields that ran across from the dirt road, the trees that hovered above us were so green and flourishing with new life inside them, the birds sang beautiful tunes as they sore through the cloudy sky. I tilted my head back and took in a long, deep breath, my nose filled with so many new and clean scents, as the cold wind blew through my hair and around my ears, I got this overwhelming feeling of home.

The vehicle came to a stop, we stepped out and came face to face with a large metal door, just beyond this is a new life that I'm so eagerly awaiting, I can nearly hold my composer for much longer. The doors opened, there were so many different types of fusions that surrounded us, some I never even could have imagined, detectives, scientists, military and even police were wandering the floors.

"This way everyone" Risa said turning down a small hallway.

We walked down the hall right behind her on each side there were huge rooms and each room had 1 large, thick glass window connected to it, the crazier part is that each room had different terrains! We passed many that had fusions training inside them, all this didn't feel real, it felt as if I was in a movie. I had so many different qustions passing through my mind until my thoughts were interrupted as I walked face first into my brothers back not realizing we were at a standstill.

"You all must have so many questions, but before we can get to those I'm going to need a sample of saliva from each one of you for a DNA test." Risa explained while handing each of them a small glass vial.

"And what's the DNA test for exactly." Yukio asked glaring at the container. "I don't just hand out my spit ya know" He said looking over at Risa.

"It sounds weird, I know. But its necessary for us to know exactly what you are mixed with. It helps out our scientists as well, in case something ever drastic of serious happens to one of you, they would know how to treat the situation. It's more for your safety of your future." Risa replied

"Why so many questions wolf boy. Be grateful you even got picked by her. You know how many people have tried getting into our facility and were denied. So shut it and just spit in the damn container." Eito irritably remarked staring down the now agitated wolf.

Yukio stepped forward facing eye to eye with the tall muscular rusted hair man "What's your problem, man. Itching for a fight" He said with a presumptuous smirk on his face.

"Nah, I wouldn't wanna break your cute, little pointed ears." Eito said grinning.

"For fuck's sake put your dicks away. Eito go for a walk and cool down. Yukio either spit in the container of you can leave. I don't have time to be messing around here." Risa snapped at the two.

"Yukio." Akira said giving her brother the "Not now" glare.

The angry wolf let out a deep sigh as he rolled his eyes and spit in the container handing it to the irritated woman.

"Now was that so fucking hard" She said grabbing the glass vial and placing it inside a tube. She typed their names in the computer labeling them. She began to read out what the computer analyzed.

" Akira, Nakamura ;

Half Red Fox and half Crested Porcupine. What an amazing combination!

Yukio, Nakamura ;

Full bred Canis Lupus better known as the Mackenzie Valley Wolf. The largest breed of wolves in the world. Risa looked over at the massive young man, 'well if that doesn't fit this idiot I'm not sure what would' she thought to herself.

and last but not least

Shiro Tadaaki ;

Full bred Lycaon Pictus. "I knew it!" Risa said excitedly "I knew you were just what I needed from the moment I laid eyes on you! We didn.t have a full breed of your kind yet!"

"uhm.. what the hell is a lycaon thing?" Shiro asked confused.

"Have you ever heard of the Painted Dog?" She replied.

He squinted his eyes and scratched the back of his head trying his best to remember if he's ever heard of it.

"African wild dog" She said throwing her hands up "nothing?" she said letting out a sigh

he stood shaking his head "do you got any pictures?" He asked looking at the computer screen.

She let out another sigh before pulling up an image

"oh! I've seen those on animal planet!" the dog boy said snapping his fingers

"you're not to bright are you kid" The wolf said patting the young boys back laughing "Don't worry we will work on that" he grinned.

Risa rubbed her temple before opening up a room next to them. She placed her palm on a small scanner as the door let out a click noise and opened up.

"Now before we go forward, do you three plan on staying together, working together, becoming a team? Think this through, will it effect your relationships? Can you handle being ordered around by whomever you decide to make pack leader?" Risa remarked as she observed each ones reaction.

"Yes, we will stay a pack." Yukio answered without any hesitation.

"Are you sure? You two only met Shiro today. How can you trust him." She said looking into the wolfs piercing onyx eyes.

He looked down at the young boy and smiled "Yes. We can trust the kid." He hit the pups back and smiled.

"I have no complaints here!" Akira said smiling happily.

"Ok, Shiro, what do you say? Will you stay with them or find and create a new pack?" The detective said looking at the grinning pup.

Shiro's eyes glistened as he held back his tears "I'll stay! I promise I wont let you guys down!" He spoke with his voice breaking a bit and his tail wagging a mile and minute, looking at the two.

Yukio felt an un-denying urge to protect this young boy at all costs. He wasn't sure why. Maybe because he saw a bit of himself in the pup, or maybe he knew what it was like to feel out of place and alone. But deep down what he did know for certain is that this was a great kid with a shitty start to life and he wanted to change that.

But what he really didn't know is that Akira and his kindness that they showed towards the rogue pup is exactly what saved little Shiro's life..
