I could feel a release from Mr. Lahai's. His voice was lighter. I could hear his smile.
"I know this must be confusing for you, but remember everything will be revealed in time." Mr. Lahai gave me instructions to always ask myself for direction. My voice would always tell me the truth.
"O.K.", was all I could say. I didn't want to interrupt his joy. It had been months of messaging and video calls. He never said anything! Not until I asked.
My heart felt it was true. But mentally I didn't understand. I had the face of the man who signed my birth certificate. No, he hadn't been any type of a father to me, but I never thought he wasn't my biological father. There was no logical explanation, but I knew Mr. Lahai was telling the truth. Mr. Lahai wanted me to trust myself and my voice.
"Now it's time to deal with other matters." Mr. Lahai voice dropped an octave. "Did that Chief in America give you something?"
"Yes, Sir. I have a couple of things."
"Everything from that Chief you must remove from the house. He has been monitoring you with those things. He is why you could not see during your three day ceremony."
My body temper was rising from the rage boiling in my stomach! It was moving from my stomach to my chest. "Why is he watching me? What is he trying to do?"
"He has been switching the destiny's of the people. He has been using your eagerness to reconnect to Africa against you all. Many people are suffering because of him and you people do not know it."
"What do I do with the things he gave me?'
"Ge them out your house. He knows we've found out about him. He will come looking for the things, so he can take them back. They never wanted you to know. "
"I will." I cut my conversation with Mr. Lahai short and ran around my house snatching everything up that S.O.B. ever gave me. I kicked myself for not listening to myself when I first met that Chief. My voice had never failed me, but I failed myself. I was shown early own who he was. I saw he was a liar! But I wanted help to reconnect to my African heritage. I let fear win over my intuition. "Go, get me everything from the altar room. Put it on the kitchen table!" I screamed through the house for my daughter's help. She didn't ask any questions. She brought me everything.
I packed everything up and took it far away.
During the drive I recalled all my experiences with the Chief. He was very eager to have me join his class. He even called me twice to make sure I was able to join! Before my three day ceremony, he asked me to tell him the specific day and time it would start!
The Dream!
"Hi, thanks for taking my call." "Sure, what's going on?" "I has a dream last night. A guy who I went to high school with passed away about two years ago. He was in the dream trying to find his way home, but no one could see or hear him, but me. He asked me why everyone was ignoring him. I had to tell him he was dead! He cried and we went in a private room. Then all of a sudden he turned in a my favorite R & B singer. The singer jumped on top of me! He tried to kiss me, but I pushed him off ! I told him to stop! The singer tried again, but I pushed him harder, telling him I didn't care who he was, he couldn't just kiss me!" "So even in your dreams, you don't let strangers touch you?" "I guess so! I'm not cheap in my dreams either! But when I pushed him off the last time, the singer turned into a black gremlin-like shadow, screamed in my face and vanished! Is there such a thing as bad spirits?" "Yeah there are bad spirits. But that was probably just your sexual frustrations." He changed the subject, "but you like to be wined and dined, before you give anything away?" His statement was more like a question. "I guess so, but what about the dead guy? Was it really him?" "So you can pretty much control yourself even in your dreams?" "I guess, but the guy!" He wasn't answering my questions. "Did I really have a dream about a dead man. It was so weird because I remember hearing about his death..." "Oh, forgot I have another appointment. Sorry but I need go! I'll call you back after this meeting." The Chief hung up the phone.
Later that night, I had another dream. A gorgeous man with beautiful locs took me to the dinner. He held my hand, he took me to the movies. Then I excused myself to the restroom. As I washed my hands, this chocolate Adonis was standing right behind. Before I could speak, he pulled me by the arm and slammed me to the floor and penetrated me with one thrust! He left me on the bathroom floor! I thought to myself...Is that anyway to treat a woman?
"Oh My God! That was the same man in my ceremony dreams!"
Thankfully, my car windows up. Sitting at the red light, this conversation, with myself, was private. I needed to vocalize the stress of this new revelation.
He was very tall, muscular and had long locs. His complexion glowed as if, he walked around with perfecting lighting. The misery man was the one who threw me over his shoulder! The same man who pleaded for my forgiveness. Then his pleads quickly switched to unconcern when he dropped me to the floor, when I didn't cooperate with his plan!
The Chief had sabotaged my ceremony.
I squeezed the steering wheel. I armpits were wet. I could see the bubbles of water running down my forehead. My anger had never been this bad.
You saw who I was. I trusted you! I let you around my children! Nah,no sexual frustration! You're the frustration!
The pit of my stomach was on fire! A devil masquerading as a bridge, connecting the stolen souls back to their forgotten heritage. This was no doubt an unforgivable sin.
