Jax Today is a school day. Ugh. The only good thing about it being a school day is that I can see Ellie. If she comes in today.
I was about to get out of the car when I saw Asher and this blonde girl stareing at me. I kept my eye on him as I stepped out of the car and said bye to dad. I was walking towards the school entrance when I saw in the corner of my eye Asher walking towards me with a smile on his face. I looked around to dads car and smiled at Storm who was sat in the back stareing at me. I got to the entrance, I looked over where Asher was and he told me to wait up but I ignored him and carried on walking to the bathrooms.
I got to the bathrooms and I rushed into the nearest stool. I got my phone out, went on messages:
Jax😐: Hey dad, do you know if Ellies coming in today? Dad👪: Im not sure Bud, she'll probably have the day off from the news that she got yesterday. Jax😐: Ugh, looks like Imma have to deal with the "popular" kid following me around like a creep. Dad👪: Ok, well have fun.
It took him a while to text back at first but he did at last. A couple seconds later, dad sends me a phone number. I copy and paste it onto my contacts and message the number:
Jax: Hey, my dad sent me this number and I want to know who this is... Sorry if Im bugging you... Unknown: Hey, is this Jax Paul? Jax: Yes? who is this? Unknown: Hi Jax, its Ellie Jax: Oh Hey Ellie. Ellie: Your dad told me that you need help with the "popular" kid? Jax: Yea😂 Ellie: Who's this popular kid? Jax: Asher obviously Ellie: Hes not that popular Ellie: and hes not the one you have to watch out for... Its Tessa Jax: The blonde one right? Ellie: Yea thats right Ellie: Well, you better get to class before the popular kid comes and gets you.😂 Jax: Oh thanks Ellie thats made it so much better 😂 (sarcasm alert)
I walk to class and sit in my seat. I would normally be sat next to Ellie but because she isnt in the teacher got Asher to sit next to me. He walks over and half smiles at me when he catches my eye. He shuffles over knowing that I dont want him there. When he sat down he looked down at his book and called out, "Miss can I tell you a joke?" The teacher looked over at him and said, "After Ive done the register, yes you can tell me ONE joke." He nodded his head and whispered to me, "I hope you find this funny." I looked over at him confused.
He wants me to be happy. Does he really want to be my friend or is he being forced.
The teacher finishes the register and everyone looks over at Asher so he can tell his joke, "So three drunks enter a taxi. The taxi driver knew they were drunk so he turned the engine on then off again. Then said, 'We have reached your destination.' The first guy gave him money and the second guy said, 'Thank you.' The third guy slapped the driver. The driver was shocked thinking the third guy knew what he had done. So he asked, 'What was that for?' The third gut replied, 'Control your speed next time, you nearly killed us." Everyone in the class started laughed and a little giggle naked out of me and Asher noticed. Asher looked over at me and smiled at me. He gave me a note. It read, 'You like Ellie, dont you?' I put the note down and wrote my reply. 'Why would I tell you?' He shook his head and ripped another piece from his book. (The teacher was already teaching and the students were all listening to her) I looked at the time on my phone as he wrote. I saw a missed call from dad and my lock screen. The lock screen was:

The photo made a tear roll down my check. Asher luckily didnt noticed.
I put my phone back in my pocket and I put my hand up. The teacher eventually came to me. I asked to go to the bathroom but she just shook her head. I held my you know what to make it more convincing. Some how it worked. She signed my planner and as I walked out Ahser called to me, "Dont pee you pants." I ran to the bathrooms and got my phone out. I phone my dad back but he doesnt answer.
After school
I was walking to the car park to find dads car but I couldnt see it. There was a beep so I look in that direction and its a white Jeep. I walk closer and I notice that its Logan. I get in the passenger seat and he drives away. We have the whole ride in silence, not even with the radio on. When we get to my house he watches me to the door then drives away. I ring the doorbell and a few minutes later dad answers and half smiles. The smile kinda looked fake. I furrow my brows at the smile and walk to the living room. I jump onto the sofa and call Ellie. She answer straight away.
On call: Ellie says hello and so do I. I look down at my lap and say, "Am I allowed round? I want to comfort you." She takes a while to answer but after a while she says nervously, "Im not home." I press the button to facetime and so does she. Shes in a different environment than her home. I look through the phone confused, "Where are you?" She takes her face away from the screen and says, "Me and mum are having some time away from home." I get closer to the screen, "How long you staying away for?" She shakes her head and says, "Im not sure." I give her a warming smile and say, "How come you want to stay away?" Her expression changes, "Jax, please stop asking so many questions." Tears started rolling down her cheek. "Hay hay, dont cry... Im sorry, Im just curious." She looks down at something and says, "Its just... something serious is happening to mum and I dont know what. This morning, I was getting ready for school and she grabbed my sleeve and rushed me to Logans car without anything. Logan drove us all the way to this random house and mum keeps phoning people saying that we're leaving the country tomorrow." Jake looks over my shoulder but isnt shown for Ellie to see. He looks worse than earlier, sadder. He walks away out of the room to probably his room. "Nooo, Ellie you cant leave." He looks over at what Im guessing is a door because light shines through it. I could hear rustling but no voices. Then Erika says to Ellie, "Have you gotten you stuff ready for tomorrow?" Ellie nods her head while wiping her eyes. I heard Erika leave. Ellie faces the phone and starts crying even more than before. She whispers, "This is the worse surprise ever." I nod my head and say, "Have you got my jumper?" She nods. "Luckily, I was already wearing it when she grabbed my arm." "Well, wear it tonight, when you have the chance spray some Lynx Africa on it... Thats my scent." She pulls the hood up of the jumper I gave her. All evening we talked about random stuff. Our favourite sports, drinks, foods etc. At around 9:30pm we ended the call because Erika told Ellie to go to sleep. The last thing I told her was that, 'I'm gonna miss you and just remember that I'm always here to talk to.' I went up to my room and I saw Jake stood outside his room on his phone. He was talking to someone on call. He looked sad, heart broken. I patted him on the back and gave him a hug. It seemed to make it worse. He started crying and hugging me back. I could hear what the person was saying but I couldn't tell who It was. She was saying, "I'm so I had to. he forced me. He said he would kill Ellie if I didn't leave." That was when I knew it was Erika on the phone.
