"Hey!"Brian said as he opened the door for Roger to get in, with a plate of cookies in his hand.
"Hey!" Roger stopped for a few seconds to smell the cookies Brian has made for his parents and continued "Okay, here is a great deal for you Brian, you give me one of these cookies and I'll let you open your present now."
Brian giggled and put one of the cookies in Roger's mouth then pulled him inside so he wouldn't get cold outside.
"Okay, you got what you wanted, now give me my present." He said putting the plate down on the table.
"I see you are very impatient to open it. Maybe I should keep dropping hints here or there and keep you guessing." A little smirk appeared on his face.
"I'm not that impatient to see what you've got for, I just don't trust you enough to open the present you bought in front of my parents."
"Mhm, yeah. I'm sure that's the only reason. Whatever just open it." He gave the box to Brian and sat near him on the couch.
Brian sighed and untied the bow on it. Of course, he was curious to know what Roger has gotten him for the pre-Christmas dinner.
Pre-Christmas dinner was something Brian and Roger invented years ago when they first met. It was just like Christmas but a little less religious and more 'fun' as they always went drinking after dinner. They usually invited their parents to dinner but unfortunately, Roger's parents couldn't make it this time.
He quickly opened the box and saw something which looked like a notebook. He took it out of the box and realized that it was actually a photo album.
He looked into Roger's eyes, smiling widely "Did you make this?" He asked.
"Yeah, it was a bit hard to find all these pictures but I managed to gather them all together." He smiled back at him "Open it and I'll talk you through if you don't remember any of these."
Brian giggled a little "Okay, " he opened its cover "Let's see what we have here..."
The first pic he saw was taken at their third meeting together. They weren't that close yet but it wasn't hard to see there was going to be a strong bond between these two.
"Oh, do you remember this one!" Roger said with excitement. "That was the first time we really got to know each other."
"Yes, Roger. Of course, I remember. There was that friend of ours, what was his name again? It's been so long since I last saw him. Miles? Was it Miles?"
"It was Mike."
"Oh, yes. Mike. Of course." Brian then continued turning the pages and his smile grew wider with every pic he looked at.
Roger was sitting there, watching him smile and giggle to himself remembering all the good times they had together. He smiled every time he saw Brian giggle. He couldn't help it. It made him happy to see his best friend happy. It always made him feel good to see the sparkles in his eyes. Because Brian was usually insecure about himself therefore it was rare to see those sparkles. Roger couldn't understand why felt that way though. He had always thought he was the only man to ever walk this earth that has absolutely no flaws. Flawless was the one word he'd use to describe him.
"Did you put these in chronological order?" Brian asked dragging Roger away from his thoughts.
"Hm? Oh, yes. Yes, I did." he said proudly.
"I can see the effort you've put in this Rog, and I appreciate it. I really do. I love this. Thank you very much." He then leaned in for a hug.
"You're welcome." Roger said as he pulled away from the hug and looked into his eyes. He took a deep breath.
It's now or never.
He thought.
"Brian, I, uh... I need to talk to-"
The doorbell rang forcing Rorger to cut his sentence short.
Brian got up and shouted "I'm coming!" He then looked at Roger "They are probably my parents but don't forget your sentence, I'll be right back."
Roger nodded in disappointment.
Now it's never.
