Casilda's Song
As found in the play: The King In Yellow
Discovered by Robert Chambers

Along the shore the cloud waves break
The twin suns sink behind the lake
The shadows lengthen
In Carcosa.

Strange is the night where black stars rise
And strange moons circle through the skies
But stranger still is
Lost Carcosa.

Songs that the Hyades shall sing
Where flap the tatters of the King
Must die unheard in
Dim Carcosa.

Song of my soul, my voice is dead
Die thou, unsung, as tears unshed
Shall dry and die in
Lost Carcosa.

—"Casilda's Song" from The King in Yellow Act 1, Scene 2

Casilda's Song: The Lost Verses
A lost reprise from the play:
The King In Yellow
Once thought lost to the ages
Newly discovered by Randall Scott

The sands tore through, to turn him back
But ropes held true, without slack
Brought closer still to
Olde Carcosa.

Through a forest of long dead trees
The wind howls low, lamenting leaves
Love weeps longingly near
Dread Carcosa.

Bleak is the song without melody
Like insidious skies, no stars be seen
More uncanny still is
Woeful Carcosa.

Voices spiral low, faint heard, unseen
Spoke of He Not To Be Named, Hastur, Yellow King
Dissent falls silent in
Doomed Carcosa.

The King's dark will would never crack
Shadows flew forth from his back
Souls forever lost in
Dead Carcosa.

—"Casilda's Song" from The King in Yellow Act 3, Scene 1
