Something's gotta give

The calls

Friday evening-
Gabby spent nearly all day picking out what to wear for her and Severide's date. She thought it might be dinner but had a feeling it could be something crazy like sky diving or something. This was kelly after all, he was known for his unforgettable dates including taking a girl in a hot air balloon once. She was about to take another look in her closet when the phone rang.
"Hello?" She answered unsure of who it was as there was no caller Id.
Silence. There was no answer on the other line. You wouldn't have guessed there was anyone on the other end but the heavy breathing indicated there was. After a moment had passed she repeated the word but still nothing. After another moment, the call ended.
"Weird" Gabby said out loud confused by what just happened. She carried on looking in her closet for another 5 minutes until her phone rang again.
"Okay, who is this?" She said agitated. Gabby hated prank callers. Again, there was nothing but the sound of heavy breathing, this time it was faster. After a couple more seconds the call ended.
Gabby sat by her phone for a few minutes to see if they would call back but when that didn't happen she went back to finding an outfit. Soon, she found the perfect one. A purple tank top with gold embellished around the neckline and black skinny jeans. That will have to do, she thought to herself looking in the mirror. Then the dreaded phone rang for the third time.
"Okay, whoever this is needs to back off, my brother is a cop!" She shouts angrily.
"Hey it's me Severide! You're the one who agreed to the date! I'm outside by the way"Kelly said in a joking but scared manner.
"Oh my, i'm sorry Sev, I'll be out in a minute" Gabby stuttered quite embarrassed. She quickly put her black heels on, grabbed her purse and headed outside.
"What was that about?" severide asked while opening the passenger door to his car for Gabby. 
"I kept getting calls from a blocked number that freaked me out, all I heard was breathing and then they ended it." She stated with a taunted expression on her face.
"How long has this been happening?" Kelly asked severely.
"It just started today but I've had this weird feeling someone's been watching me ever since i got back from Afghanistan." She says while looking in kelly's eyes that immediately tell him that she's terrified. Kelly knows that Gabby is fearless and can go up against anything so if she's scared of this, then it must be serious.
"We'll figure this out as soon as we get to the station on monday, but right now i wanna take you out and get your mind off of everything. You look gorgeous by the way." He says with an earnest smile.

Authors notes- hey everyone. I know I haven't been active in a while I've had a rollercoaster of a year. I finished high school and started college. My niece was born a few months ago so ive been spending a lot of time with her. I've also moved out of my home town so yeah i guess it's been a bit hectic. Anyway, hope you enjoy this chapter i know its a bit small but it's leading up to something good! :)
