Excitement pulses through me. I never thought that I would be so relieved to hear that! Now's our chance! And I was right! Someone from Forest Pack did spot us!

Many strong muscles Forest Pack wolves break into the camp, through the entrance and through the barrier and breaking it.

"PLAIN PACK, KILL THEM!" King Snowfur howls, visibly vibrating with fury. "I'M NOT GOING TO LET THIS DAY BE RUINED FOR ME!"

Before anyone can react, the Forest Pack wolves launch themselves onto the Plain Pack wolves. Howls of pain, growls and the scent of blood quickly rises up from the chaos and overwhelms me.

"Come on!" Roseycheek urges, taking off in the direction of the entrance.

"YOU FOOLS!" King Snowfur howls at Roseycheek and I.

I need to fight him myself.

I crouch down, bunching the muscles in my back legs. I launch myself straight onto King Snowfur, pinning him easily.

He snaps at my throat a few times. I keep dodging.

He wiggles out of my grip.

Oh no I backed up trying to dodge him! This was a plan!

Before I can react he launches himself at me, knocking me over with so much power. I fall the the ground winded.

He pins me down, his grip tight and claws unsheathed. "You and your mate have been nothing but trouble since you came!"

Exactly.

"You've been nothing but trouble since you became alpha of this pack, you greedy, self-centred, fox-heart!" I spit at him, baring my teeth. "I've heard what you did and I now know your true intentions! As long as I live, you'll never take over the packs!"

King Snowfur rears, looking taken-aback. "You're young! You're stupid!"

I take on of my free legs and tear my claws down his neck, aiming for his throat.

King Snowfur eyes widen further, fear clearly showing.

I swipe again, dealing a blow that sends him to the ground.

I quickly scramble to my paws. I peer over to see him drifting in and out of consciousness.

Now to get back to Roseycheek. I quickly scan the crowd unable to find her. A small growl rises from my throat. Gah! I'll just head to the entrance and hope to find her there.

I bolt to the entrance, weaving through the crowd. I approach the entrance quickly. I'm almost there!

A black Plain Pack wolf falls to the ground in front of me. Not being able to stop in time, I trip over him. Claws suddenly catch my tail.

I go to look at my tail. I see a light brown she-wolf with her claws caught in the fur of my tail, her eyes wide with fear.

"I'm so sorry!" She apologizes, her voice high with fear. She tries to pull her claws out of her tail.

I pull my tail away from her claws, sending pain through my tail. We keep pulling, but nothing happens.

"Fox-dung!" The she-wolf curses under her breath through gritted teeth.

Where's Roseycheek? I'm going to be caught for sure!

As if thinking about her summoned her, I glance Roseycheek peer out of the entrance tunnel and glance over in my direction. Her eyes lock with mine. Using the power of her fear, she bolts straight for me, unaware of the fighting wolves getting in her way.

Roseycheek somehow arrives quickly and unharmed. She immediately spots my tail and the she-wolves claws and immediately starts picking the fur out of it slowly and carefully.

Can't she go any faster?!

"Roseycheek?" The she-wolf breathes out in disbelief.

Roseycheek turns around to the she-wolf, confused. She stops picking the fur out. "Sequoiatail?"

Oh, come on!

I dramatically clear my throat, to grab their attentions.

They turn around to look at me form their staring at each other ritual.

I gesture to my tail with my head to Roseycheek, impatient.

"Oh right!" Roseycheek turns back around and starts picking out the fur again and slowly.

"Faster please!" I growl, suppressing myself from raising my voice.

Roseycheek pulls the she-wolf's claws out of my tail in one hefty pull.

"Thank you, Roseycheek." Sequoiatail and I say in unison.

Sequoiatail gently rests her tail on her. "I could tell you didn't belong in Forest Pack after King Rabbitfur exiled mu sister- your mother. I only came because I want what's best for you. Now go to Mountain Pack with your friend."

Now's not the time for a family reunion!

"Mate." Roseycheek corrects her.

"Go!" She urges with pride.

"Thank you from us both and I'll miss you!" Roseycheek calls out to her as she starts bolting towards the entrance.

I don't want to lose her again. I race after her.

We reach the entrance, the gaping hole promising something amazing.

A deep growl sounds from behind us, startling me.

I cautiously turn around, scared.

Those familiar dark ginger fur and terrifying amber eyes. Foxfur! I thought he was dead! There's the massive gash! Oh no! His glare is cold and he's vibrating with fury.

He bolts for Roseycheek and I, fast as a rabbit.
