Leah and Paul had never been close. The two were usually at odds over Sam. And Paul was as hot headed as they came.
Paul supports Sam for helping the pack through their first phases and in his leadership.
Though Leah silently agrees with Paul on Sam's support of the pack, she would never admit it. Sam was really great with the guys.
Silently Paul had sat down beside Leah. Bumping her shoulder with his. The two had sat in silence for a while. The silence had actually been comfortable. Hostility not rearing its ugly head.
As the moon had began to wane, the two had gotten up and headed home. Both confused as to what had happened, though all that had happened was sitting in silence.
For days Leah had avoided Paul. Though nothing had happened or had been said the encounter had left her unnerved.
Paul was usually talkative. And didn't mind letting his thoughts be known.
A week later Leah was scheduled to run patrol with Paul. Meaning that there was no avoiding him. The first hour of patrol had been routine. Running the border and scenting for any vamps.
As the first hour had bled into the second, Paul had turned his thoughts to that night. Leah had seen that Paul had sought her out in concern for her.
To say that Leah had been surprised would be an understatement. No one aside from Seth and Jake had showed any concern for Leah. Paul hadn't wanted anything that night. Just making sure that she had been alright.
Leah had began to see Paul in a new light. The next morning Leah had gone home and slept a full eight hours. The most she had in a while.
With the new found friendships Leah had began to feel a bit better. She knew that she wasn't alone. And she appreciated it.
In the coming days and weeks, Leah and Paul had became closer. Though neither one would openly admit to it. Both had done their best to keep their friendship a secret.
As with most small towns LA Push doesn't provide much entertainment. The neighboring town of Forks doesn't help much in that department.
Though Forks had a little more, it was hard to keep the talk down if someone from the rez was spotted.
Finding herself off of patrol on a Saturday, Leah had made plans. Her Mom, Sue, was going out with Charlie to dinner and a movie. Seth would be on patrol with Jared.
Leah had spent most of the day napping. At eight o'clock she gets ready to head out. The drive to Seattle is two hours. Taking the back roads, she blares the cars radio with the windows down.
The drive had served to clear her mind. Helping her to relax. By the time she had pulled into the clubs parking lot she was ready for a good fun night.
Paying the cover, Leah makes her way inside. The natural sway of her lips moving in beat to the music.
