I pushed the cart down the aisle of the grocery store looking for some ramen. I finally found some and went to grab it - but so did someone else.
"Oh, I'm so sorry!" I apologized while secretly thinking, 'Hands off! That's MY ramen!!!'
The man looked down at me and, apologizing, stepped away to let me have my ramen.
"Yes!" I whisper-yelled as I brofist-ed myself. "Thanks!" I grabbed my ramen and put it in the cart.
"My pleasure."
I studied the man. He was (C/H) with (C/H/C) hair and (C/E/C) eyes. As I stared at him, the lights went out because of the huge thunderstorm outside. Because of my stupid nyctophobia, I made a fool of myself and clung to the man in the total darkness. He wrapped an arm around me and pulled out his phone to give some light.
When his phone's flashlight illuminated the space around it, my head came out of his shirt a little bit. I looked up at him with big puppy eyes before looking into the pitch-black shadow around us. Involuntarily, I snuggled closer to him and he held me tighter.
Finally, the lights came back on. I looked at the man with a bright pink hue on my cheeks, and he let me go. I walked to the check-out lines but there was still a problem: When the lights went out,
Everything in the store went out.
The staff had only been able to turn on the lights, but everything else was still a little fidgety. That meant I had to go home without food. And that is NOT acceptable.
Fortunately for me, the man had caught up with me and offered to drive me home.
"Well... I kind of need food... I don't exactly have any at my apartment," I explained to him.
"In that case," he started. "You could come to my place?"
I looked the man up and down before deciding that free food was a good reason to put my life in someone else's hands and that person may or may not try to kill me.
"All right."
(A/N): I might to a second part to this one because I think it's extremely sweet. But that's up to you guys. :P
