Sathya didn't want to go home but she has to. She doesn't want to get tortured by Raghu but she has no other option. She wanted peace but she has already lost it! Looking at the passing city through the window, the blowing air-dried the tears before it could glide down to her cheeks. She doesn't know a way to get out of this miserable state.
Once she thought and still have a faith that Raghu is a good man. But he's changed. It might be a small word but it's more powerful than anything else in this world.
She's waiting every day that he will understand her but the change that occurred in her life isn't in the state to come back to its usual. There she realized her relationship is breaking slowly.People can even come out of their big failures but they can't come out of the betrayals easily, it takes a lot of time. She can see through his self but she doesn't get it why he has to turn all his anger at her.
And after that fight, he is not even looking at her face. She feels like a fool now. If she has kept silent during that argument Raghu would have calmed down on his own. But she has added fuel to his anger and in the past days, the misunderstandings and the arguments have bought havoc in their relationship. She even left all her dignity and self-respect to talk with him yesterday but all she got was words that made her wounds deep.
Raghu was not staying in the house and comes late at night. He only talks to Sanjay but that's not like how he used to be. What she can do with this attitude. Sathya can only stay away and be silent, that's what she's doing.
The bus halted on the stopping and Sathya got down along with few other passengers. She walked to her house, lazily.
Her Mom kept telling that she's going back to her hometown thinking that she's a burden to their family. But how can Sathya let her go?
The only person who is still keeping her sanity is her Mom. If she's not there then Sathya would have lost all her courage to live, go to work and end up at the home to look after Sanjay.Sathya noticed that Raghu's bike was not there before the house, she climbed the stairs and moved to the home thinking where he has left.
The door was open, looking at Sathya Sanjay ran to his Mom. She took him in her arms and kissed all over his face.
"Have you drink milk?" She asked Sanjay.
"Umm," he nodded.
"Good boy," she kissed his cheeks and her Mom looked at Sathya."Do you want anything to eat, Sathya?"
"I had food in the hotel, ma, coffee is enough," she lied and headed inside her bedroom.
She changed her dress and felt very tired today.
"Sathya," her Mom handed the coffee mug."Turn on the lights, Sathya," she told; Sathya refused. She doesn't want the lights to show her sadness so she stayed in the dark.
She sat on the floor with the cup and her phone in her hands. Leaning against the bed she thought to call Raghu. Though she's disappointed about him, she loves him as much as he hates her right now and that love doesn't want to leave him alone.
She called him but his phone is switched off. Sanjay came into the room and sat on her lap.
"Do you like your dad?" She asked caressing his hair."Yes," he replied enthusiastically.
"I like your dad too, but I don't know why has to hate me?" She smiled and her eyes welled in tears.
In the middle of the night, Sathya's sleep disturbed when she heard a ruffling sound near her. She didn't open her eyes but felt a familiar presence near her. She turned to see Raghu who stings like a bottle of liquor.
Sathya was stunned but she doesn't want to make a fuss at this time. She looked at his face which she didn't saw properly in the past two weeks as she slept in the adjacent room since Raghu will close the door once he comes back home and he won't open until Sathya leaves to work.
In that drunken state, he pulled her close to him and rested his hand on her waist but Sathya couldn't sleep after that.
She got down from the bed earlier in the morning feeling something rolling in the pit of her stomach. Scurried to the bathroom, she threw up yesterday's coffee. There's something not normal in her system. She felt overwhelming and her stomach growled in hunger. Brushing her teeth she came out feeling dizzy.Raghu was snoring lightly and seeing that Sathya's face frowned.
He has no worries about this family. All he cares about is him, his life, his failures and his time.Sathya went to her Mom and woke her up.
"What Sathya?"
"Amma, I am not feeling well and I am hungry," she told.
"What's the time?" She asked.
"Five thirty," Sathya replied.
"Wait, yesterday's leftover food is in the fridge, I will heat it up for you," her Mom went to the kitchen and Sathya sat in the balcony looking the still-dark sky.
She gave the plate and Sathya had it eagerly. She always loves her mom's cooking especially this sambar. After eating Sathya felt somewhat better and washed her hands.
"What happened, Sathya? Shall we go to the hospital?" Her Mom asked.
"Hmm, I am not feeling well these days," Sathya replied.
"I will go to the hospital. You look after Sanjay," Sathya said.
"I will come with you Sathya, why you have to go alone,"
"Amma, I am not a child," Sathya replied annoyingly.
As the sun slowly comes out to shine, Sathya headed to the bathroom to take bath.
When she came out Raghu was awake and sitting blankly on the bed in the effect of hangover.
She didn't talk to him and wore her salwar. Raghu was confused about why she's getting ready since it's Sunday. He watched Sathya going out of the bedroom, her Mom made tea and gave it to Sathya. She sipped it sitting on the couch. Raghu watched her and when she looked at him, he turned his gaze.
"I will come back soon. Sanjay is still sleeping," Sathya told to her Mom before going out of the house.
Raghu after finishing his morning chores came out to find tea at his bedside. He didn't care about it and headed to the kitchen.
"Where she's going?" He finally broke his silence with his mother in law and she felt happy that he's talking to her.
"She is not feeling well, son. She is going to the nearby hospital," she replied.
"Oh," he nodded clenched his jaw because all her actions were like insulting him and telling that he's not important for her.
"There's tea on the table, please have it," Sathya's Mom requested.
"No, I don't want it," he thereby ended the possibility of reconciliation.
He again went to his room and laid beside Sanjay. He couldn't explain why he's getting angry with her, perhaps he failed to understand that he is loving her way too much and now he's showing it in the form of hate.
Sathya was the first one to see the doctor. It's a lady in her mid-forties, and she knows Sathya very well.
Sathya told her symptoms and the doctor checked her pulse.
"You're under birth control right?" She asked."Yes doctor," she answered. There Sathya realized that she didn't get her periods for the past two months.
"Your pressure level is normal. Give your urine sample to the lab and come tomorrow, okay," she told.
"And I have prescribed some vitamin tablets. Take it after food," she added.
Sathya came out of the hospital and bought the medicines. At the end of the street, there's a fruit shop, Sathya purchased some apples and oranges before going home.
While entering the gate she saw Raghu coming out with his laptop bag. She paused to tell him where she went but he didn't wait to listen and left taking his bike.
