For the entire day, Sathya kept wondering about the results. She's anxious and afraid of something that she's fearing to accept. She prayed to God that shouldn't happen at this time where everything is muddled.
It's raining heavily outside, and she left early to meet the doctor, she didn't say this to her mom or to anyone. She got the reports in the lab and waited to meet the doctor. Her heart raced, she couldn't breathe properly and her legs were trembling in fear thinking that her fear will come true.
"Mrs. Sathya, come inside," the attendant said.
Sathya nodded and went to see the doctor. She analyzed the reports and looked at Sathya. "Your reports are normal Sathya, but you're pregnant!" finally the doctor confirmed it and Sathya gave a defeated look.
"It can't be doctor; I am in birth control implant," Sathya replied.
"In rare cases, it happens, Sathya. The test results showing positive, both in your urine and blood. If you come tomorrow, we can take a scan to confirm it clearly. But I think these results are enough to say that you're pregnant," the doctor told with a smile.
"You've got a miracle, Sathya. Take care of your health and don't skip your meals," she added.
Sathya nodded plastering a smile. She leaned back on her chair and kept silent. She doesn't know what to say. Then nothing heard in her ears after that. She paid the consultation fees and agreed that she will come tomorrow for the scanning.
Carrying the umbrella over her head she walked to her house in that heavy rain. She wants to say this to Raghu but she's afraid how he will take it. Maybe this news could even change his anger so Sathya decided to tell him first before anyone else.
She saw Raghu's bike was in front of the house, it motivated her and grabbing all her courage she went to her home and she made up her mind to accept whatever he decides.
Today Sanjay was sitting with Raghu, and they were playing with his toys. Sathya gazed at him gathering all her love for him but he didn't look at her. It's fine, she accepted his anger and waited for the right time to tell him.
How much the situation has changed in their life, Sathya never scared to talk with him but now she's afraid to even look at his face. Raghu has told her a lot of times that he won't get mad easily but if he did then it's too hard to calm him down. Sathya didn't take that big but facing it now she realized the truth in his words; it's tough to face his wrath. People will always tell their good sides to keep someone with them but Raghu has told his worst attitudes to warn Sathya. He never said that he's a good guy and he never told that he will not show his worst side to her. Nevertheless, he forgot that he will love her and be with her.
When Sathya came out changing her clothes, her mom asked her to have dinner but before that she need to tell him, or else this food doesn't go in her throat. Carrying the report Sathya went to Raghu. She closed the door behind, they were alone in the room and she thought this is the good time where he seems to be calm not like in the previous days.
Raghu turned his gaze to her and was taken aback when she came close to him.
"What?" he asked keeping his face stern.
She handed the report instead.
"What is this?" he annoyed and tossed it off.
Sathya didn't take that as big.
"I am pregnant," she muffled.
"What?'
"I am pregnant," he heard her clearly and stood up in the surprise.
"How?" he asked narrowing his eyes. It's evident from his face that he's not happy to hear it.
His unbelievable look made her sad but she didn't get angry. "I am surprised too, yesterday I am not well and went to the doctor. Today I again went there for the test results and the doctor said that I am pregnant," she told.
"Oh," there's not a slight glimpse of happiness on his eyes. But Raghu's unlikely face made Sathya's eyes to well in tears. Sometimes an accusing look will stab you deeper than the knife. Silence kills you mercilessly and being doubted will burn you more than the scorching fire; All this happens when someone you love more than you love yourself, do this to you.
She stood there breaking inside.
"Why you're looking at me like that," Sathya asked.
He chuckled, "I am wondering how this happened when I?" he stopped and Sathya was stunned to hear that; she never thought that he will react this way. He just broke down their relationship with his small action. His sarcastic tone made Sathya cringe in embarrassment. It's true that they didn't share a bed in the last three months but how could he ask this way?
"What do you mean?" she asked.
"Nothing," he turned his gaze away.
Tears slide down from her eyes and turning her heart stone, "This is your child and you know it well. Please don't do this to me," Sathya cried in front of him, shamelessly.
Yeah, she always thought crying is a shame. Sathya has cried in front of him; a lot of times but never felt ashamed because she gave him a place above her mom but now she found that he never really understood her and looked her like everyone who saw her nothing but less than trash. It shook her strength, courage, and dignity.
Raghu didn't reply anything and clenched his jaw seeing her tears. The love he stored in his heart taught him that he has done a mistake. Before he thinks to apologize, his ego stood before him and blocked his way to her.
Sathya felt disgusting to face him and turned to leave from the room. For all these days, she thought he was just angry at her but now she identified that he hates her way too much.
She didn't stay in the house and cry in front of her mother; she was already sad about Sathya's life and if she pours her pain then she will be dejected to know it. So she dashed to the terrace, she couldn't climb the steps and stumbled in the middle. She started to cry silently.
Nothing ever hurt her this much but Sathya now feels like why she even born in this world.
Her tears not only told that she's hurt, but it also said she's broken completely.
She stayed in the terrace for a few minutes and helplessly thought about her life.
Sathya has done nothing wrong to him yet she has apologized leaving her ego, begged him and has done whatever she can do to bring everything back to normal. But Raghu refused to accept it and still dwelling in his past feelings.
She has already told him that she despises if she was doubted and he kept doing it which means he's unfaithful about me? Am I looking that cheap to him? She thought, wiping her tears. At that moment, she pushed down Raghu from where she has placed him in her heart.
Sathya stepped into the house only for Sanjay. She's feeling why she even married him. There's a determination in her mind -not to beg him anymore and do what is good for her, Sanjay and the new life that's growing inside.
She had dinner for her child and slept hugging Sanjay in the next room. Sathya decides to sleep off and tell this to her mom tomorrow because right now she will get emotional with all these things going through her mind.
Though she wanted to sleep, she couldn't. Her mind replayed the words that Raghu said from the start of their marriage life to till now and realized how much it has changed, he has changed?
She still remembers when she was pregnant with Sanjay, Raghu was not happy at that time too.
Why he has to do this to me?
Why he's punishing me when I did nothing wrong?
Why I got this life?
Is this what I deserve?
I don't deserve happiness...?
