-Effy's P.O.V-
Tate's words made me smile, even though I didn't want to sit there in just a towel with no makeup on and wet hair but then again, I really did.
"I just need a little company." smiled Tate. His smile was so heartwarming an his dimples made me weak at the knees.
"Sure." I smiled back. I walked back over to the breakfast bar and sat myself down in the same place, placing my food before me.
"So, how're you?" Tate asked, raising the mug to his face.
"Good." I replied.
"No really, how are you?" he asked again, a little more serious. I could feel him looking at me so I looked back. He was leaning over the table towards me. "I saw you flinch away from your mom like you've hurt yourself. You hurt your head?" he asked. I raised my hand to the back of my head, where I hit it and felt a sharp pain go through my head. I scrunched my face up in pain and Tate noticed.
"No, I'm fine." I said as I moved my hand away from my head and saw red. Dark red on my palms.
"That doesn't look fine to me." Tate noticed. I closed my hand and looked up at him.
"It's just hair dye. Red is awful. It comes out everywhere. I'm going black soon." I said, trying to change the conversation.
"Ah, I've noticed you like black." he smiled.
"Favourite colour."
"Black isn't a colour, it's a shade." Tate corrected me. He seemed smart, I liked that. "Anyway, tell me about yourself." he smiled, showing off his dimples. I think he knew that I liked his dimples.
"I'm Effy Scott, I'm interested in serial killers and the supernatural, I listen to The Cure, red hair dye pisses me off and my favourite shade is black." I babbled to him in a slight sarcastic tone. Tate laughed and then rocked back in his chair. "What about you?" I asked, placing my elbows on the bar and leaning on my hands.
"I'm Tate." he smiled.
"Tate what?" I giggled.
"Tate Langdon." he replied. My smile dropped a tiny bit as that name rang a bell. I remember that name being mentioned in a connection with the house.
"Tate Langdon?" I questioned, sitting myself up. Tate's smile kinda dropped too. "I've heard that name before, but I can't recall where from." I concentrated.
"My father!" Tate blurted out. "My father was also called Tate Langdon, I'm junior." he smiled.
"Really? He has a connection with this house though?" I spoke.
"He died here. He was shot down." explained Tate.
"Why?" I asked, as I never got the answer before when I asked that question.
"I don't know." Tate said, quieter. We both sat in silence for a few moments before the front door swung open.

-Tate's P.O.V-
Doctor Scott came through the front door, interrupting mine and Effy's awkward silence.
"Ah, hello Tate." smiled Doctor Scott as he came towards the kitchen. "And Effy, why aren't you dressed?" he asked whilst placing two bottles of milk on the breakfast bar.
"Me and Effy were just talking, you have a lovely daughter." I smiled. Effy looked up to me and broke a smile. Her green eyes sparkling.
"Ah yes, well Effy go and get yourself dressed, my slot with Mr Langdon begins now. If you'd like to come with me to my office?" smiled Doctor Scott as he started to guide the way to his office. Myself and Effy left our seats and walked out of the kitchen. Effy turned to go up the stairs and I stopped to call her.
"Hey, wanna meet after my session?" I asked her. Effy stopped on the third step up and turned around. She flashed her white teeth at me and replied.
"Of course, this time you'll see me in my normal wear instead of crazy makeup or a nude face." she laughed. I smiled back at her and then she turned away and continued to go up stairs.
"Mr Langdon, come through." I turned to see Doctor Scott waiting for me at his office door. I walked ahead and went through.
"Right then," started Doctor Scott as we both sat down opposite each other. "What seems to be the problem?"
"What do you do when you're deeply in love with someone, but they don't feel the same way and all they do is tell you to go away?" I started, thinking about Violet.
"Is this about a past relationship?" asked Doctor Scott.
"Yes, it is. " I started. "I've tried talking to her but she won't listen. She doesn't want me in her life anymore."
"The best thing I can start with, as an offer, is try and move on. Not letting go must be making it worse for you."
"It hurts a lot doctor." I said, having tears build up behind my eyes.
"Pathetic." I heard a voice. I turned my head and saw Hayden standing there, mocking me. I didn't say a word but casted her an evil look.
"Well, is there anyone else you are attracted to in the slightest way?" asked Doctor Scott. His words made me turn my head away from Hayden and suddenly put Effy in my mind.
"Actually," I started, leaning back in my chair. "There is one girl."
