I blow dried and styled my hair and applied my normal makeup. I wore black leggings with a black blouse and black cardigan. My full fringe had become too long so I pushed it to the side so I had a side fringe. I kinda liked it. I then stood myself in front of my long mirror on the window and checked how I looked. I wanted to look in some way attractive towards Tate. As I stared at my reflection, a girl stepped out from behind me and scared the life out of me.
"Stop it, you look a mess anyway." I screamed and spun around. I scanned the room up and down but no one was there. My heart started racing. Suddenly a hand fell onto my should and pushed me onto my bed.
"Gosh you're so jumpy aren't you." said the girl. It was a fairly young girl with long gingerish, brown hair. I was in shock as she stood at the foot of my bed.
"Who are you? How did you get in here?" I asked, confused and panicked.
"Oh hunny, someone hasn't done their homework. I'm Hayden McClaine, look me up." she said sternly.
"What are you doing here? Why are you in my room?"
"Oh it's your room now, is it? I swear this was Tate's room and then Violet's room and god knows who's room." she spoke, sarcasticly.
"What are you talking about? How did you get in?" I kept asking, sitting myself up but keeping my distance.
"I've always been here. I think it's time you did your research." she said, walking towards my door. She stopped in the doorway and turned back to me. "Watch out." she smirked at me before walking out of my sight.
"Wait!" I called after her as I jumped off of my bed. I ran straight out into the hallway but she was no where to be seen. She had vanished. Who the hell was she? How did she get in? What was she talking about?

"So you've described this girl as dark, beautiful, mysterious and full of life. Can I get a name?" asked Doctor Scott.
"Oh come on Doc! You should know the girl by that description." I leaned in closer. "You're daughter."
"Effy? You have feelings for my Effy?." I could tell Doctor Scott was starting to become uncomfortable.
"Not feelings, just an attraction. When she came down in a towel, just wow. I could imagine things. I could imagine what beauty was underneath the towel." I said with a smile.
"Um Tate, I'd rather you not talk about my daughter like that." said Doctor Scott with a mood drop.
"That's what Ben also said about Violet." I grunted under my breath.
"Tate, our session has expired for today. I'll be seeing you tomorrow." said Doctor Scott as he rose from his seat.
"I have more to say though!" I jumped.
"That'll be saved for our session tomorrow, would you mind seeing yourself out?" I nodded my head and opened the door and stepped out of his office. I closed the door behind me and then looked straight ahead. Just as I was about to go find Effy, she caught my eye. Standing in the kitchen, opposite me, was Violet.
"Violet." I said to myself as I walked towards her.
"Hello Tate." she said, calmly. I walked in to the kitchen and her beauty hit me in the face.
"What are you doing down here?" I asked. Just looking at her brought my eyes, glossy.
"I heard you talking to the new owner. You're doing what you did to me. You're using him to get close to his daughter. Just like me." she said with a stiff tone.
"No, no Violet. I really do need the help and Ben refused to see me and this was my best shot! And Effy, Effy is just a friend!" I tried to convince walking around the breakfast bar over to Violet.
"Tate, I heard what you said about her." she spoke.
"No Violet, I love you, I love you Violet." I said, trying to hold her.
"Tate no! You lied to me, again!" she shouted as she pushed me away and resisted. Tears started to roll down my face.
"Violet please! I love you, you're all I've ever wanted!" I cried.
"Back off, Tate!" yelled Violet as she shoved me away from her. I fell to my knees and bawled my eyes out into my hands. I sobbed for a few seconds and then went to look up at Violet. She was gone. I looked around myself to see that she had disappeared. I stood myself up and rubbed my eyes, remembering I had to meet Effy. Effy. I focused my mind on Effy and then left the kitchen, heading towards the stairs.

I carried on looking all over the second floor for that girl, Hayden. I even decided to go look in the attic. I pulled the attic door open and out slid the ladder, almost hitting me in the face. I climbed up it and found myself in the roof of the mansion. There was a light swinging above my head, so I turned it on as it was pretty dark up here. The light was very dim, didn't make much of a difference, but at least I could see a little more. I began to walk around the attic, looking for her. Suddenly, a red ball came rolling towards me and stopped when it hit my foot. I picked it up off the floor and looked to where it came from. A dark area of the attic where I could not see.
"Hayden?" I asked. "Hayden, is that you?" All of a sudden, a creature came towards me dressed in a old nightgown and had a chain around its neck with a disfigure and messed up face. I screamed and dropped the ball to the floor.
"Play!" the creature shouted at me in an monstrous voice. I screamed again and turned away to run out of the attic, but I ran straight into someone's arms and I knew who it was straight away by their voice.
"Hey, hey, hey! It's okay!" I heard him say. It was Tate. I buried my head into his chest and squeezed him. "Go away, Beau. You're scaring her." I opened my eyes and turned my head, to see the creature behind me. It was gone. I turned my head back around and looked up at Tate. My face was so close to his.
"If anything ever scares you again, just tell it to go away. Easy as that." he smiled down at me. I looked at him confused.
"What the hell was that? What's going on?" I asked. Tate just smiled at me.
"Don't worry, Effy. Nothing's going to hurt you. I won't let it." he comforted me. I didn't say a word in reply, I just put my head back on chest and let Tate hug me again.
"So, what do you wanna do?" Tate asked, squeezing me tighter. I let a smile crack across my face along with a little laugh.
