-Effy's P.O.V-
Tate walked me into my bedroom. I was shaking with shock at what I had just done. I didn't think about my parents or anyone else before I did what I did.
"I got this for you." said Tate as he walked me over to the bed. Before me was a lacey, white dress. I smiled as Tate held it up in front of me.
"It's beautiful." I whispered.
"Effy, who's here with you? Oh! Hello Tate." I heard my mom say from behind us. I spun around and looked at her speechless. "Me and your dad are really ill so we're spending the whole day in bed, you two don't make too much noise okay?" she finished before going to walk away.
"Mom! Where are you going?" I asked fearful.
"Just to the bathroom, darling. I'm not running away, Jesus!" she laughed. I turned and looked at Tate who had the same worried expression as me.
"Mom no!" I cried as I remembered my body was still in the bathtub. I ran out of my room and back towards the bathroom. "Mom you can't-" I suddenly stopped as I stood in the bathroom doorway and looking at the bathtub. It was empty, no blood, no body.
"Christ Effy, what's gotten into you!?" asked mom, standing in front of the mirror. I scanned the whole bathroom and didn't find the razors I had left either. I looked up at mom and saw her with a confused expression. "Well?" she questioned with her arms folded.
"Uh...nothing...nothing at all...sorry." I said, confused as I walked back out of the bathroom, closing the door behind me. I went back into my bedroom and saw Tate still holding the dress with a confused expression.
"What happened?" he asked.
"My body..." I started.
"What about it? Did your mom see it?!" he suddenly panicked.
"No...my body is gone..." I finished. Tate's face dropped.
"Gone? What do you mean gone?"
"I mean gone, gone. The bathtub is empty. There's no body, no blood and no razors. The bathroom is crystal clean!" Tate dropped the dress on the bed and walked over to me.
"That's impossible, your body can't be just gone! That's not how it works."
"Well it's gone, Tate! It's either vanished or someone-" I suddenly stopped and looked up into Tate's eyes.
"Or someone?"
"Or someone has taken it." I said in realisation. Tate caught on straight away and his eyes widened. "Someone has taken my body." I spoke. I suddenly felt my knees become weak and a sickness in my stomach. My knees gave way and I fell. Tate caught me and lowered me and himself to the floor.
"Why would someone take your body?" he asked.
"I don't know, but I have an idea of who might of done it." I spoke. We both sat in silence, in fear of who it may be. Tate finally spoke.
"Who do you have in mind?" he whispered.
"Violet." I whispered back.-Tate's P.O.V-
As soon as I heard Effy say that name, I could feel anger building up within me. I shot myself up from Effy's side and went storming out of her bedroom door.
"Tate, wait!" I heard Effy cry from behind me.
"Stay there!" I shouted at her as I began to rush down the stairs. If Violet took Effy's body, Violet will be going straight to hell. I headed towards the basement and then flung the door open. There was a light on downstairs. I thumped down the stairs with rage raising higher. I got to the bottom and saw Violet sat on the floor with her back to me, obviously smoking a cigarette.
"Violet!" I shouted at her. She jumped to her feet and spun around.
"Oh, Tate!" she smiled.
"Where is Effy's body?" I demanded. Violet laughed and took a toke of her cigarette. "This isn't funny, where is her body?"
"What body?" she smirked. I stormed closer to her and she flinched a little.
"Where the fuck have you put her body? I will not let her stay stranded in this house." I spoke.
"Oh, somewhere safe." she smiled, blowing smoke in my face. Suddenly I snapped and shot my hand out and grabbed her throat, pushing her up against the wall. She dropped her cigarette and grabbed my hand.
"Tell me where she is!" I screamed.
"Why do you want to know? You left my body stranded in this god damn house!" she screamed back at me.
"Now I see why." I started, leaning in closer to her face. "You deserve to be stuck here."
"Fuck you." she whispered and then spat in my face. I released her throat and tumbled back a little. I started rubbing my face with disgust until her spit had rubbed off. I looked back up and saw she was gone.
"Get back here!" I shouted. "Get the fuck back here!" I started raging around the basement, throwing things and pushing things over, screaming in anger.
"Tate, stop!" I heard a voice from behind me. I turned my head and saw Effy standing at the bottom of the stairs. She was wearing the white dress I bought her. I started to calm down a little and felt tears behind my eyes.
"It was her, Effy. It was Violet. She took your body." I spoke as I let tears break. I turned my body to face her and saw she had a sorrying expression. "She won't tell me where she hid you, Effy." I spoke, dropping down to my knees. "I'm so sorry." I broke down. Effy came rushing to my side and hugged me tight. I hugged her back and started crying into her chest. "I'm so, so sorry." I blubbed.
"Tate, it's okay." she comforted, running her fingers through my hair.
"No, I didn't want you to be stuck here. It's not fair, I don't want you to be stuck here with her." I cried even more.
"Tate," started Effy, lifting my head so that I looked at her. She rubbed away one of my tears with her thumb. "as long as I'm with you, I don't care." she whispered. She then leaned in and kissed my forehead and started hugging me again. She was too good for me. But she didn't deserve this. I won't give up, I will find her body. I will search for eternity if I have to.
