I was laying on the ground, covered in dust and debris. Explosions were happening all around me, but I was too out of it to comprehend the situation. My ears were ringing and my head was pounding.
"KIHYUN!"
I heard Shownu yell my name, but he sounded faint and distant. I thought it was him, but I honestly wasn't too sure. I got grabbed by the collar of my shirt, and got yanked up to me feet. Then I was running with someone pushing my forward.
"You have to keep running. We HAVE to get out of here."
Changkyun didn't leave my side until we were caught up with the others. They were just as tired and dazed as I was. We were just practicing in the practice room at Starship when we heard the explosions. At first, we weren't sure what was going on. We looked out the window, and saw that the sky was red. Then we saw the black outlines fly over the building. Come to find out, those were planes dropping bombs.
We ran until a bomb landed in front of us. It was a good distance away, but we knew we couldn't go that way.
"We can't go that way," JooHeon said.
"There's a turn up ahead. Let's go to the left, and if the hideout is still standing, we can go there."
I fell trying to catching up to Hyungwon, who was the fastest out of all of us. I was temporarily blind due to debris getting in my eyes. My eyes were watering so bad I couldn't see anything at all.
"DAMN IT, Kihyun you have to keep running," Shownu said in frustration.
"Maybe I don't want to keep going," I said in exhaustion.
They all stopped running, and turned to look at me with shocked expressions.
"What do you mean you don't want to keep going?" JooHeon asked.
"You don't want to leave us, do you?" Minhyuk asked.
Changkyun didn't have any emotion on his face, but his eyes gave him away. He always spoke more with eyes. Hyungwon looked confused, but sad and conflicted at the same time. Wonho's lip quivered, and he failed holding back his tears. Shownu looked shocked and frustrated.
"That's not an option," Shownu said.
Him the others started running without giving me a chance to explain. Do I want to keep running? Won't we get blown up anyway? They obviously weren't waiting for me to catch up. I guess I really do have no choice.
I ran until I saw them standing at the crossroad that lead to our hideout. They didn't look happy at all. In fact, they look devasted. I kept my distance still, but I could see who was devasted by my words. Wonho and Minhyuk were wiping their eyes, and were doing their best not to cry too hard. Changkyun kept his head down hiding his emotions. Hyungwon starred off in the distance trying to avoid making eye contact. JooHeon and Shownu were talking to each other, but they weren't letting the others get in on their conversation.
I approached them slowly letting Minhyuk see me first.
"You're not serious, are you?"
The others turned around to see me, but their expressions didn't change. I could tell they wanted answers, but I could only give them my explanation.
"Look, I know you guys want us to stick together, but I just slow you guys down. You guys are faster without me, and you can reach the hideout quicker. I don't like being a burden to you guys, but as long as I'm around that's exactly what I am. Please, guys I want you to go on without me. If I didn't care I wouldn't be doing this."
