The Beginning

Chapter Sixteen

I could hear helicopters flying overhead. We had just got here to escape the bombings for a little while. Why did this place have to get targeted? Everything around me was just piles of rocks and concrete. There was dust and debris in the air from the explosion.

"Signs of life are showing in this direction. Once the life forms are found lets get them out of here."

I heard a voice that sounded like it came from somewhere above me. I couldn't open my eyes all the way, but I could open them enough to see my surrounding. People in white suits were getting lowered from the helicopters onto the explosion site. Once they were lowered onto the ground, they took out these red scanners looking for me and the others.

I looked over to my left and saw them put a body onto a gurney. Please tell me the others aren't dead! Please let them be alive! I didn't join them just to have them get taken away from me! Everything was fuzzy, but I could tell by the white hair and blue tips that Wonho was the one getting lifted onto the gurney and placed in the helicopter.

I saw the men in white suits dig through the piles of concrete, and lift rocks to try and get to the others. They found Hyungwon and Minhyuk close to where Wonho had been buried. Minhyuk had an oxygen mask placed over his nose and mouth. Hyungwon had a brace around his neck, and an IV in his arm. Shownu was the next one to get found. They had to perform CPR and put braces on both of his legs. Shownu, Hyungwon, and Minhyuk were the next ones to get lifted into the helicopter.

JooHeon and Changkyun were found not too far off from where I was. My body was buried deeper than theirs are, I think. JooHeon had to get put in a white hazmat suit with an oxygen mask over his nose and mouth. Changkyun had to have a neck brace, and both of his legs in braces. Once they were stabilized, they were lifted into the helicopter.

"The explosions are starting to pick up again. The radiation levels are rising too fast. We have to abort the mission and come back when the radiation levels are low."

I don't know how long it has been since I saw the men in white sits come and rescue my friends. I keep going in and out of consciousness so I lose track of time. My vision is blurry and my thoughts all melt together until I can't make sense of them anymore. I look down at my hand only to see that my skin has turned red. I had blisters, but I couldn't feel the pain. Maybe death will take me away finally

***P.O.V. Change (Shownu)***

"Do you guys think hell ever wake up?" Minhyuk asked.

"I'm sure he will," Wonho said. "He's been through a lot. His body and mind has to recover from everything."

The guys were all worried about Kihyun. Honestly, so was I. I've never seen Kihyun in such a vulnerable state before. He was always the one taking care of us. It's been a week since we rescued him from the headmasters guards. He had been thrown out into the harsh atmosphere of Earth with the harmful radiation. Luck,ily his blisters had healed, and the lash marks and bruises were finally healing. Some of them left scars, but over all he was healing okay.

"Will he remember us when he wakes up?" Minhyuk asked.

"We're just as clueless as you are," Hyungwon said. "We all want him to wake up, and have his memory back, but there's no guarantee that it will happen anytime soon."

We haven't left his side since we brought him back to the dorm. We don't want to leave just in case he wakes up, or his condition gets worse.

"I'm sure hell wake up when hes fully recovered," I said. "For now, let's just watch over him and see how his condition improves."

We were in the gathering hall where everyone goes to socialize, and have fun outside of their dorms. The technology here was pretty advanced so video games were the main source of entertainment. Luckily, everyone thought that the explosion of the security was just another one of the bombings that happen on the outside. As far as we know, no one suspected anything.

"Damn it, you guys know I deserved to win!"

"Why do you always have to get so upset whenever someone beats you?" Changkyun asked.

"Minhyuk, it's just a game calm down," Wonho said.

"But I'm the ultimate game master. No one ever beats me," he whined.

"Let's play again, and this time we'll let you win," JooHeon suggested.

"No, no, no it's not the same. You guys are no fun. I don't want to play anymore."

I really wish Kihyun would hurry and wake up, so he could take over the parenting. I can handle a lot of things, but Minhyuk needs extra attention and discipline that I don't have the energy to provide.

"Where's Kihyun when we need him?" Hyungwon asked.

"What do you guys need me for?" Kihyun asked.
