Today's chapter is going to be a story on how I started to read Pokémon Adventures/Special and just Pokémon manga in general. Enjoy!! \(★ω★)/

It was the summer of 2011 and I obviously was no different than I was years before I was still a HUGE Pokémon fan, however one thing was different I learned of a new Pokémon trainer, Red, and I wanted to learn everything I could about him. I remember I had to watch my neighbors'  cats because they were going on a day trip for the 4thg oof July (I'm American). So afterwards I got paid twenty dollars, since I wanted to spend my money on something my mom brought me to a thrift shop called Savers, so I decided to look through the books. I glidded my finger against the bindings of various books until I landed on a book with the Pokémon title, I immediately pulled the book out to see a book with a guy that had some similarities to Ash but easily recognizable as not being Ash, it was RED!!! I internally fangirled a little as I skimmed the pages and knew I HAD to get this book!!! I remember it not having a price and the chic at counter almost made me pay nine bucks for it (it was in excellent condition but still!!) Until she just kinda did a "eh..." And instead had me pay only a dollar for it. I then started to read it and I really enjoyed it a lot!! The volume of the manga is called "The Best of Pokémon Adventures Red" meaning it was a collection of the greatest chapters, it also was in standard book format (left to right) instead of the traditional (right to left) manga format, I honestly don't know why it was like that, I never bothered me then and it still doesn't bother me now.
I, at some points thought it was connected to anime, because at on scene this guy (who is the Pokémon fan club president) was at the Pokémon league. My brother convinced me it was Team Rocket's Meowth in disguise, which the art style did look like Meowth in a costume, however I now know its just a really short guy. I remember making these posters for two of my friends that had huge drawings of Red on them!! One of them I put "The trainer with attitude!!" I really thought Red was the coolest trainer!!! Later, I started middle school  my mom used to bring us to Barnes and Noble to look at the books a lot. I remember my face when I saw a whole treasure trove of Pokémon Adventures books, some with trainers I've never seen before like Gold and Silver for example!! I saw even more books with Red on them, that is how I knew that there were more chapters in the RBG saga, than the ones that I had in my own manga (I used to think that there a lot of time skips in there). I even saw a bit of the yellow chapters. I used to think Red dyed his hair brown in more recent stuff since in Adventures his hair was black, however I first saw Red's hair as brown (because of his sprite in HeartGold). I read a little bit of other Pokémon Adventures/Special as well. Like the Ruby and Sapphire saga, Diamond and Pearl saga, a tiny bit of Black and White, and a good amount of X and Y. I never at the time I write this, read the Sun and Moon saga. One thing I hope in the future is to see an anime based on Adventures/Special!! However, that is HIGHLY unlikely but it's still fun to think about. I still have my first Pokémon manga along with a library of other Pokémon books such as the other manga books I own such as Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Adventure!! (Which is fairly different from Adventures) and the manga adaptation of the 20th Pokémon movie I choose you!!  I love comics and I (obviously) still read Pokémon Manga.

Do you read Pokémon Adventures/Special?? If you do when did you start?? Please share if you'd like!! 💜💜💜
