Bennett POV

I groaned as I looked at the time on my wrist watch. It wasn't even noon and I'm already back from school. Just great. How was I supposed to explain this to my caregiver, Kate? At least I didn't have to deal with the owner of the orphanage, Mrs Robinson.

Mrs Robinson has been nothing but a mother to me ever since I got into the orphanage the day I lost my father when I was seven.

Flashback

"Daddy where are we going?" I said clinging onto my dad's hand catching my breath. All I could see were the street lights illuminating the murky streets of Queens. The cold damp air hit my face sending a chill up my spine. I never knew the vibrant streets of Queens in the day time became this eerie at night.

We left our apartment and now my dad was scouting for a place to lay low. I knew he was in some sort of trouble with his boss considering that my dad worked as a drug dealer. I knew at the back of my mind that it was something illegal to sell drugs but my dad had to do whatever to make ends meet and take care of me.

We finally settled at this old abandoned warehouse and that's when my dad turned to me and gave me his locket. He believed that locket brought him good luck and protection.

He then handed me a wrinkled piece of paper with some writing on it. "If anything happens to me. I want you to go to this address and tell them that you are Bennett Williams and Frederick Williams sent you," he said pulling me into a hug fighting away his tears."Don't cry my boy. Its going to aight, be strong for daddy. Just know, as long as you have this locket I'm always with you. Even if you lose it, you still my better half," he said wiping my tears then kissing my forehead.
