Lilly POV

I haven't heard from Bennett the entire day. I last saw him when he came to take his backpack in class and that was it.

"I hope he didn't get expelled or something because of me," I said pacing in my room. "I always get us into some sort of trouble but he is the one who has to take the fall for it. What kind of best friend am I?"

I jogged downstairs and was met with my mother fixing dinner. I grabbed an apple in the fridge and sat on the kitchen counter. "Something wrong sweetheart?" She said startling me. "What happened?" She said closing the pot then coming to stand between my legs.

"I haven't heard from Bennett the whole day. Did he come here by any chance?" I said.

"No. Why? Is something wrong?" She said resting her hands on my thighs.

"I think he was in some sort of trouble back at school since he was called to the principal's office earlier today," I said taking a bite of my apple.

"That boy," she chuckled a bit. "He is always getting in some sort of trouble. Go check on him before it gets too dark out," she said kissing my forehead.

"Thanks ma, I'll be back before you know it," I said getting off the counter.

"Take your phone with you honey so that your father and I can easily contact you."

I stopped in my tracks and turned to my mom, "Ma, I'm a teenager. My whole life is my phone," I said causing her to gasp and place her hands on her chest pretending like she was hurt. I wasn't lying about the whole phone thing. I grabbed my bike and was off to see Bennett in the orphanage.

I came to a halt and went to knock on the front door of the orphanage. I waited for five minutes before the door swung opened.

"Hey short stuff, what's popping baby sis?" Bennett said pulling me into a hug. "Let's go to the park and sit and talk. There's a lot of noise here."

"Aight. Go take your bike then nigga," I said to him.

I loved cycling with this guy. Somehow we find ourselves making it a competition of who will arrive first and this jackass always beat me every time. We got to the park and sat on one of the park benches opposite the basketball court. Its nice to just look at the guys shooting hoops.

Bennett started doing his usual thing of crossing his legs then slouching. "Dude, you gotta stop sitting like that. It makes you look gay as fuck."

"What if I am gay. Then what?"

"Nothing. I'll be cool with it. I don't care what your sexual orientation is, the important thing is that you are being yourself. I will love you no matter what." Bennett came closer and gave me a kiss in the forehead. "Enough of all that, why did you leave early today bro?"

He rubbed the back of his head and let out a sigh then turned and faced me,"Well, the principal called me to discuss our graffiti and smoking saga. Don't worry, your name didn't come up. She told me that I was suspended from school for four weeks."

Damn, that's harsh. Its going to be hard not seeing my best friend around school for four weeks. Who am I kidding, this ain't the first time his ass got suspended but he was never suspended for this long. I was always for about two weeks at most. This stung a lot.

"How is Mrs Robinson handling this? I mean she is pregnant. Did she do the thing of hers of breathing in and out? Did she get mad or something?" I said cackling.

Bennett bursted out laughing, "Ya she was mad" he said wiping the tears that started falling as he was laughing that hard. "She got me a temporal job as a cleaner in one of her friend's husband's company."

"On the plus side, at least you are gonna distract yourself,"

"Ya, enough about me," he said tapping my shoulder. "So you and this Sam guy from Physics. You guys got a thing going don't ya?" He said nudging me on the side.

"Fuck you," I said playfully pushing him.

"So it is true. You two got a thing going on!" He said sounding shocked.

"Let's just go before it gets dark."

"No no little missy. I'm not letting you off that easy," he said with one hand on his hip.

Sam and Lilly sitting on a  tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G. First comes love then comes marriage then comes babies in a baby carriage!

Those were the only words I heard from coming from his mouth as we cycled home. To top it all off, he was singing on top of this voice.
