Logan's POV
As I write this now, long after this all transpired, I must first make a declaration. Dreams cannot tell the future. Simply put, dreams are a series of thoughts, images, and sensations occurring in a person's mind during sleep. They can be very odd sometimes, but they certainly cannot tell you your destiny. You will never see your soulmate in a dream before you meet them.
I gasped as I sat up in bed, breathing hard. My blanket slipped from around my shoulders, leaving me shivering slightly in my thin shirt. My heart raced as I found myself in the dark. For a moment, I couldn't recall where I was.
My dream was vivid in my mind; I could still see faces and colors, but I was rapidly losing details. I desperately tried to lock the memories into place, but they slipped away like water through my fingers and disappeared. I sat there for a moment, cold and disoriented with only one thing left in my mind: a face.
It wasn't a very unusual face (the ears were the same size, the nose wasn't too big or too small, there weren't any blemishes on the skin, etc.) but for some reason it didn't fade. On the contrary, it became more and more distinct until it seemed to consume all my thoughts. I considered it for a few moments.
If forced to guess, I would have said that the face belonged to a man, but he had no facial hair and his features were delicate, so I would have guessed without confidence. The only thing that really stuck out were his eyes. His irises were an odd shade of blue (there was no way they were purple; normal human eyes can't turn that color) that seemed to radiate light. I'm not saying he seemed especially happy or anything. He literally seemed to have glowing eyes.
I shivered again, but this time it wasn't from the cold. I felt really...unsettled. I was sure that I had never seen that face before in my life, so why was he resonating so strongly within me? He seemed familiar and important, and my heart thundered away as I thought about him. Trying to reestablish control, I took a long, shuddering breath. I looked around my room and grounded myself, trying to calm my racing heart. I glanced at my clock on my bedside. It read 3:47 a.m.
I laid back down and closed my eyes. 'It was just a dream.' I told myself. 'It was just a dream.' But as my mind sank back into sleep, my heart pounded rebelliously against me, and I smiled dreamily.
Author's Note: Hey guys. I would apologize about the short chapter, but it's kind of important to the storyline. Don't worry, I'm still alive and working on this. Love you guys. -N.E.R.D
