Alyana's POV (NOT EDITED)
Previously: I turned around to make sure my mom didn't mistake me for Alyssa and right in time to because as soon as I did, both their jaw dropped and the grocery bags my mom was holding. Not knowing what to say I took the simple approach and said, "Surprise?" With jazz hands.
"Please tell me you're really Alyana and not Alyssa trying to prank me," my mom stated with disbelief clouding her face.
"It is," I said and with that she ran over to me hugging the life out of me as Caden hesitantly walked up to me, which I kinda expected because he hadn't seen me in real life since he was 5 and he's turning 10 in a few weeks, so the only time he actually see's me is when I face-time them. He finally hugs me when I smile at him, breaking him out of whatever trance he was in. While my mom had brown hair and green eyes like me, Caden was a younger version of my dad with blonde hair and blue eyes.
"Not that I'm not happy to see you, but what are you doing here? I thought you were spending Christmas with your friends back in Maine?" My mom asked after my brother let go of me. Honestly this was a way better reaction than I thought. I just thought they would be mad at me for not visiting or act like semi-strangers.
Before I could reply however, we heard the door opening and three male voices. From what I could here it seemed like they were arguing about food. Though, I hadn't seen them in years, I could easily recognize them as my identical triplet older brothers, Alex(the prankster), Landon(the mature one), and Grayson(the troublemaker). They were all Juniors in High School. They all got my dad's blonde hair and while Alex and Grayson got dad's eyes, Landon had bright green eyes like me and mom (we three were the only ones with green eyes). The difference between Alex and Gayson's appearance was that Alex had deep dimples on his face like Landon but Grayson only had it on one side making him the only one in our family to not have two deep dimples. And they all worked out making them looker way buffer then 4 1/2 years ago. Every time I see or talk to them on my phone they always end up arguing about something stupid and today wasn't any different. As they walked into the kitchen, Landon said, "Hey Lyssa, could you fetch us some water we just had practice."
"Wrong twin," I said making all three of there heads turn around and stare at me seeming to be in shock, but I pretended to be oblivious to them and instead gave each of them a bottle of water while saying, " but here you go."
"Is it really you?" The tree of them asked in synchronization. To which I only nodded and not only a second later i was squished in between three sweaty bodies put I let them hug me even though they smelled worse then the trash can. As we broke up however Alex asked the same question mom had about why I was here, but like last time I was interrupted except this time by Caden, "That's what I wanted to know. I thought you were going to spend Christmas with your friends back in Maine," he said.
"I was going to but I decided to surprise you guys instead. And seeing your reactions it seems like I did a good job at that," I stated but just like I expected I got interrupted by the door opening signaling that Layla my third oldest sister- and the only senior (at high school) in our house- was home so I shooed everyone in the kitchen to the stairs so they could be hidden and see what was happening.
Layla like most of my siblings got bright blue eyes and blonde hair, she was also very fit due to gymnastics and had abs. Instead of waiting for her to notice me, I cleared my throat loudly, making her turn towards me. It took her a couple seconds to realize that I wasn't Alyssa but when she did she took a calm approach and simply hugged me, still in shock. While I was confused about why Mason and Lilli weren't here, I still said my classic surprise that I said to mom and Caden, with the jazz hands. After she let go of me she started spitting out questions one after the other but I ignored all of them by saying, "I'll answer everything later but where are the L twins, Mason, Lillie and my twin, shouldn't they have come with you?"
