I woke up this morning, with five hours of sleep, which to me was a lot. Usually I get barely any sleep or when I do get sleep I wake up because of nightmares. I think I slept around 4 after moving around in bed for hours. It was 9'o'clock which to me was really late since I usually wake up at 5 to workout. Knowing I won't be able to workout anymore I took a long needed shower and changed into shorts and a tank top. Yes it's winter but winter in L.A is hotter than summer in Maine. Still I wore my school hoodie on top and put my hair into a high ponytail before going down.

When I reached the kitchen the only ones there were mom and Caden who was watching something on the T.V. and eating cereal,"Good morning," I said to them giving them both a kiss on the cheek.

"Hey, you're down. I was going to wake you up but I figured you were jet-lagged. Do you want toast?"

"Sure," I said before applying Nutella on the toast and eating it. I wanted to say no thank you but if I said no to food I knew she will bring up yesterday's events. Her and dad hadn't said anything yet but I knew they were holding back because my siblings already tried talking to me about it.

Just as I finished my toast, Lauren and Layla came into the kitchen to get water. They both were sweaty and panting so I decided to ask them what happened

"Oh, everyone's outside playing soccer, do you want to come? It will even the teams," Lauren answered

I was about to say no but then I realized it would be fun and a chance to connect with my family and the looks on their face when they realize I'm actually good would be priceless. While Lauren knew I was good at it I never told anyone else about how school was going, except dad who promised not to tell anyone. I wanted them to be surprised when they see that I'm not nearly as bad as I used to be. I went from not being able to throw a ball to getting sports scholarships about 5 years later in 10th grade.

When I went outside I saw everyone standing around, resting and waiting for Layla and Lauren to come back. When they saw me some said good morning or hi except dad who said, "I see the sleeping beauty finally woke from her slumber." Oh if only he knew, I used to sleep in all the time but like I said the school changed me and he did too.

I ended up being on Lilly's team along with Alyssa, Lucas, Layla, Logan, and Landon. The other team had, Amelia, Noah, Grayson, Alex, Lauren, Liam, Mason. I knew that they expected me to be horrible and our team to lose especially since the other team had Lauren. They were in for a surprise.

Dad who was the ref started the game and Logan quickly took the ball and passed it to Layla. Layla dribbled it up a bit before passing it to Lilly when both Alex and Grayson went to block her. Lilly quickly dribbled it up before scoring a goal. It was a fast play and I knew the other team would try harder this time. Noah threw the ball to Lauren who dribbled it down to the middle where I intercepted her and kicked it into a goal. Everyone's jaw dropped -even Lauren and dad who knew I played- seeing the person who was 'supposedly' the worst at sports in out family not only get the ball from Lauren (the one with a soccer scholarship) but also score a goal from the middle line.

They started to ask questions about how I did that before dad stopped them saying ask later, play now.  The next few rounds went like that with dad, and mom who came outside and cheered for us, until the score was tied 9 to 9. The next team to score would win. Mason started out with the ball and passed it to Liam, Landon intercepted it and started back to our goal before Alex got it. Alex passed it to Grayson who started taking it to their goal and then passed it to Lauren. Lucas and Alyssa tried to stop her before Logan finally took the ball and passed it to Lilly. Lilly started to dribble it forward taking turns with Lucas who was running with her. Amelia, Noah, Liam, and Alex tried to stop them and Lilly kicked the ball to me when the other team almost got it. I was facing away from the net and I knew if I took my time to stop the ball and turn around, the other team would take it so I used my left leg to push myself up and kicked the ball performing a perfect bicycle kick. I had been trying to do it since 8th grade and this was the first time I did it so well, so of course I was really happy. While everyone was trying to get over the fact that I did a bicycle kick that took Lauren until her senior year to master, dad got up from where he was sitting and ran over to me before lifting me up into a hug.
