"who got it right this time?"
my voice echoed as they quickly copied my calculations on the board. most of them raised their hands, earning my nods.
my eyes flickered at the back of the class. shim jaerin was not paying any attention again. she was looking down through the windows.
i followed her gaze and caught some boys playing basketball for physical training.
"shim jaerin."
that was the first time i called my students by full name. every students in the class was confused as they turned their heads to back.
shim jaerin on the other hand was still looking out to the windows.
"which questions are we discussing now?" i asked her as i slowly walked to her table.
now i got her attention.
i looked down on her table and caught that she was completing her english essays instead of keeping up with the whole class.
"if you keep this attitude in my class, i can't help but to get you to the principal. do you understand?" my eyes hold her gaze before walking back to the board.
"now, can you solve question 13 on the board, shim jaerin?"
i could swear she was cussing under her breath as her name slipped from my lips.
