month passed and everyone was started to kick off some sense when their mid term exam was not more than the grade C. it caused me pressure.

shim jaerin on the other hand, was very persistence. she became so active in my class. no more staring down to watch the boys playing the basketball.

in fact, she was the only who aced the mid term exam.

it was 4:15 pm.

i was just finished an extra class with second year student. walking through the usual hallway, shim jaerin was still in the class, eyes on her books, mechanical pencil between her fingers.

lately, she had been taking leave as her nose kept on bleeding but never once she missed my class. she would either okay or forced herself to stay until the end of my class.

i knocked on the door before stepping into the class.

she looked up and her lips curled into a smile but quickly continue with what she was doing.

"how's your nose?" i asked nicely.

"it's fine." she retorted softly, eyes never leaving her books but something strange  about her. the way she was sitting, the way she kept on rubbing her temple. clearly something was not fine at all.

"jaerin, are you okay?"

she bit her lower lip, preventing herself to talk but she didn't ignore me. she nodded but i didn't buy it this time. i held out my hand and carefully placed it on her forehead.

she was burning up.

before i could say something, she pushed my hand away and rubbed her forehead. "i'm okay." she said between her sobs.

"i'm okay. i just need to hold it together before csat." she said, faking a laugh as she rubbed her eyes.

as she was doing that, i noticed that her wrist was wrapped with a bandage. not to mention, the purple-bluish skin colour i spotted around it. my hands were fast to hold her hand.

she was off guard as i slowly pulled down her sleeves only to be shocked with so much bruises. few of them was still red.

"my goodness, who did this to you?"
