"N-no Terry I mean dad I was just cleaning up" I stuttered on the verge of tears
Then he just fell blood leaking from the middle of his forehead. I looked up to see Tae putting a gun back into his waist band. I ran to him tears were falling and all I could think was that it was over. We hugged for a while knowing I was safe and forever owed a debt to him.
"Tae I thought it was the end I-I thought I would never see you or anyone ever again."I said letting go of him
"It's okay it's all over now" he told me and for once I knew it was the truth and that it was actually over.
"We have to go now Des I'll call the boys to come clean this shit up." He said as I got my book bag and purse
When we walked out of that house it was a new life with all new opportunities. Life wasn't just a fight for my life anymore it was now going to be full of happiness.
I entered Tae's car and I sat there thinking about what life would be like. I didn't realize Tae was calling my name repeatedly.
"Des?" He said once
"Destiny??" He called loudly
"Huh?" I said looking at him
"You good? You kinda out of it." He said looking at me
"Just sleepy." I replied looking at him so he would know I was telling truth.
"Okay well let's get to the house." He said starting to drive. ________________________________
I woke up to Tae yelling at someone on the phone.
"I do all types of shit for y'all and you niggas can't come through fa me one time?" He whispered yelled
I looked around the place I was in and I recognized it was Tae's room. I used to run away to his house coming in through the window when Terry was sleep.
"Thank y'all from the bottom of my cold heart on Nico." He said hanging up and walking over to the bed.
I pretended to sleep as he walked over looking at me and I couldn't help but to smile and we both started laughing.
"I knew your lil sneaky ass was awake you can't fool me you been doing that same thing sense we were kids." He said shaking his head and laughing
"I wasn't being sneaky I just woke up because yo loud ass." I replied throwing a pillow at him
He quickly threw it back and I threw two back at him at him laughing loudly. Then I saw Xuri walk in with her stuffed elephant and her bonnet on.
"What time is it Tae Tae?" She said rubbing her eyes
"It's only 6:20 go back to sleep Nae." He said ( Some people call Xuri Nae because of when she was a baby she couldn't say Tae but she said Nae so that's her nickname)
"But I wanna have fun with you and Dessy." She said on the verge of tears
"We will go to to the mall later today Xuri." I said getting off the bed and walking her back to her room.
"Will you sing me to sleep like you did last week?" She asked with her cute brown eyes
"Sure Xuri." I said rubbing her back as she laid down
I sang this little light of mine to Xuri as she drifted off to sleep. I left out of her room deciding to change into some comfy clothes since I had been wearing my school outfit all day.
I walked to Tae's room going through the bags of clothes I had brought with me picking out a cute little outfit.
