8. The Letter

"So you also can't contact Wei via his cellphone?" Xichen asked as he and Yezun had breakfast together. Today Xichen deliberately cooked to make Yezun feel right at home.

"Yes, unfortunately" Yezun frowned

"Hmm ..."

"Can we meet him?" Yezun asked

"I do not know either. I mean, I don't know what your parents and Yunlan have said to Wei, I can't predict Wei's reaction when If he meet you" Xichen paused "How about a letter?"

"Letter?" Yezun raised an eyebrow

"Yes, you can write a letter to Wei.  Yunlan won't know.  But you also have to be careful in writing it, remember that Wei's condition is not yet stable" Lan Xichen went to get the paper and pen from his room then returned and gave Yezun the paper and pen "You can try it"

"Okay" Yezun nodded "Okay, I'll do it"

"Well, you're getting better now," Lan Xichen said while checking Shen Wei

"When will I be allowed to go home?" Shen Wei asked

"In two days I think" Xichen looked around, Zhao Yunlan was not in the room

"Are you looking for Yunlan?" Shen Wei asked

"Yes, where is he?"

"Yunlan left to buy coffee.  Is there something wrong?"

"No, but ..." Lan Xichen took out a white envelope from his pocket and gave it to Shen Wei "This is from Yezun"

"A letter?" Shen Wei frowned "Where is he? I want to see him ge"

"He can't see you"

"Why?"

"You will understand when you read this letter. But please don't let anyone know about this letter. You will understand everything after you read this letter.  Trust me okay?"

"Okay" Shen Wei nodded, not long before Zhao Yunlan returned. Shen Wei hid the letter under his pillow

"So how's Wei?" Zhao Yunlan asked Lan Xichen

"He's getting better, he can go home in two days," answered Lan Xichen and made Zhao Yunlan smile.

"Finally ...." Zhao Yunlan turned to Shen Wei "You recovery well babe. I can't wait to take you home"

"I can't wait to see my fishes," Shen Wei grinned

Shen Wei waited until Zhao Yunlan fell asleep.  It's 2:00 in the afternoon.  Zhao Yunlan always take an hour nap.  Sure enough, Zhao Yunlan finally lay down on the couch and fell asleep.  He then took a letter from under his pillow and read the letter slowly.

Dear Wei,

How are you today?  I hope you will get better soon so you can go home and live a normal life again.  I was so scared when you had to undergo surgery again.  I was there waiting for you but I didn't have a gut to see you in person, so I decided to wait for a few days.  Unfortunately when I'm ready to see you, Dad and also Zhao Yunlan didn't allow me to see you.  I can understand.  What I did to you was cruel but I swear I regret it Wei.  I regret all that I did to you, since we were a kid until now.

I might be a shameless brother because I ask for forgiveness.  I don't know how to fix this Wei, I was wrong from the beginning.  I was so stupid to let my jealousy take over everything.  I never know what you've been through, no.  I decided not to know.  And that is my biggest folly.  When you always try to be close to me, I always stay away.  Ignoring you even hates you.  Even though you repay my actions with your kindness and your attention.  I'm so stupid Wei.  And now when the only thing I want is to be close to you, I don't have the chance to.
