Chapter 5 - Invasion

"Alright, so you have to remember that when it comes to calibrating the control board you have to press the restart button afterwards, otherwise it's all gonna go haywire." Clawdeen does exactly that as she calibrates the board then presses the restart button, and sure enough when she re-opens the control board it's fully calibrated and in sync. Boom smiles at her and finishes scribbling down notes.

"Thanks Clawdeen. Kat has given up re-telling me what to do," he chuckles and Clawdeen laughs.

"So I'm told." She smiles at Boom and Boom, of course, smiles back at her.

"Hey you two, how's things going?" Kat walks through the doors of the Command Centre and smiles at the two. Clawdeen gives her a thumbs up and Boom nods.

"Everything is going smoothly, Kat. We're finished up here, I think," he says with a confident smile. Kat grins and flicks some hair out her eyes.

"That's great to hear. You're catching on really quickly, both of you." She chuckles as both Clawdeen and Boom blush pink with pride. "I'm proud of you both."

"Hey guys, what's going on here?" Everyone turns to see Jack, along with Sky and Z, enter the command centre.

"Nothing much. We've just finished off calibrating all the control boards, so it should be set now for everyone to use them," Clawdeen smiles at everyone.

"Sweet! Good job you two!" Z grins and both Clawdeeen and Boom blush pink with pride. Suddenly, the alarm goes off, making everyone jump. Clawdeen yowls and covers her ears, whimpering. "What the heck-?!"

Before anyone could answer, Bridge and Syd came running into the room. "Guys.. Big problem!" pants Syd, seemingly out of breath.

"What? What's the problem?" Jack tilts his head, looking confused.

"Massive team... Of crybots... Coming this way!" Bridge stutters through breaths. Clawdeen yowls again, looking scared. Sky simply sighs and pulls out his morpher.

"We should hurry and suit up, guys! Seems like there's a party we're missing out on!"

"Hurry rangers! Seems like there really is a large quantity of crybots roaming the streets!" Kat says, showing them a screen that did indeed show a large amount of robots heading in their direction.

The rangers quickly morph, Cruger also morphing in order to help them, and the six, minus Omega who was already fighting off crybots, rush off to the site to prevent the foot soldiers getting closer.

"L-L-Looks like today w-will be a busy day!" Boom stutters, looking anxious and afraid. Clawdeen puts a hand on his shoulder reassuringly.

"I think they can do it. Besides, we got our own way of helping." Clawdeen produces 5 key cards with the word SWAT in big bold letters. "Sky gave me these, and said that if we ever need to, we can control the SWAT cords to gain a bit more ground should the time come. I say that now is a better time than never!" Clawdeen grins and turns to Boom. "Boom, can you stay here and monitor the invasion while me and Kat pilot the zords?"

"S-Sure!" Boom nods and smiles, half confident and half terrified out his wits. Clawdeen hugs him quickly, before rushing to the Zord bay with Kat.

"Kat, you take Flyer 1! I'll take 2!"

"Got it! You really up for doing this?"

"What do you think! This is amazing! I ain't gonna pass this opportunity up!"

They reach the Zord bay in barely any time at all. Kat grabs the key card from Clawdeen and gets into Jack's SWAT flyer while Clawdeen goes into Sky's. The adrenaline rushes through Clawdeen as they fly out the bay and to the invasion site.

"Be careful not to shoot the rangers, Kat!"

"I know Clawdeen! Shoot near the back, the rangers will be fighting at the front!"

"Kat! Clawdeen! You hear me?" Boom's voice comes through the speaker.

"Loud and clear, Boom!" The girls respond, flying into battle. They start to shoot down crybots near the back of the invasion. There's a good hundred or so of them, and they can see on the screen, thanks to Boom, that the 7 rangers below were taking out a lot.

"Careful girls! T-There seems to be some of Gruumm's aircraft coming this way! Y-You better shoot them down!" Boom warns them, sounding scared once again. Clawdeen's ears flatten against her messy hair, and quickly notices the airships coming at them.

"Dodge the lasers, Kat! Quick! We don't wanna get hit!"

"Right!"

The airships begin to shoot at Clawdeen and Kat, and they do their best to dodge. It's insane, like a crazy bullet hell in a game. "RETURN FIRE!" Kat yells, starting to shoot lasers at the aircrafts and sending them crashing down to the floor, the explosion knocking out a good couple robots.

"Nice one Kat!" Clawdeen also shoots down a couple airships, but suddenly the alarm goes off and she violently gets thrown out her seat. A sudden pain rushes through her head as she bangs it against the metal floor. Ngh! KAT! I'VE BEEN HIT!!"

"CLAWDEEN! TRY TO GAIN CONTROL!" She can hear Kat's frantic voice trying to get Clawdeen to not crash. But she's helpless as the room begins to spin and she gets lightheaded.

"Ungh... Kat..." She passes out, hearing the sound of the ship crashing, and dozens of voices all yelling desperately...
