LU'a POV
I walked out of class and started making my way to my locker. Once I got there I noticed that that Nini girl was standing there talking to a guy that I met during lunch, E.J.
She tried talking to me back at lunch but the only thing that came out of my mouth were short dry answers. The reason? Every time I looked at her I saw the girl who made my ex-best friend act like an asshole so I felt this anger built up inside me. It's probably incredibly stupid and yes, we are in 2019 and it's stupid for us (me) to be fighting over a man (guy) but c'mon Ricky was my best friend for 13 years, he was my confident and I was his, I know him like the back of my hand, or at least I thought I did. He never acted like an ass towards me until this little girl showed up in his life. But maybe he had changed and this girl was just a coincidence, but I couldn't make up my mind.
Therefore I was completely mad at Nini, as stupid as that was. This didn't mean I was not mad at Ricky, because saying that I was mad was an incredible misunderstanding, I was furious with him.
"I can feel your eyes burning holes in the back of her head" a voice behind me.
I turned around and there he was, Big Red, one of my closest friend from elementary and junior high. We were never as close as Ricky and I were but he was an incredibly awesome guy.
"Big Red!" I gagged as I wrapped my arms around his petite frame, he had always been small for a guy. He hugged back almost as strongly as I did.
"How are you? When did you came back, dude?" He asked. For him I had always been one of the guys, and I didn't have anything against it, made me feel included.
"I'm great, I came back a week ago!" I said, it was true I had spent a week alone in my house just going out when it was needed, it was hard.
It was hard being in the same house where all of my family used to be, because now we were missing one, my mom. As horrible as her actions where, she was, is, my mother and I was missing her terribly during that week. But I used that time to pull myself together so I could start this year fresh, but I had missed a couple things.
Like that little asshole.
"Well I have to go but remember you can come to my place whenever you want, still the same" he said as he unwrapped his arms around me.
"Same, I still live in the same house so you can come by anytime!"
"You're still next to Ricky?"
Can someone please don't bring him up in a conversation?! Thank you!
"Um... yeah, still the same neighbors and all"
"Well that is great, see you around" he said as he started walking away while waving.
