RICKY's POV

Did I just imagine that? Did that really just happen? I was just about to kiss Lu. Lucia, my best friend, the girl I've been mopping around for since forever.

No, it can't be. I just imagined it.

But then again it felt so real like I was floating and everything was possible for me. And now it's ruined, thanks to James. Asshole.

So here we are, Big Red and me, admiring from a distance how Lucia and James fight.

"What is wrong with you James?" Big Red said. He was trying, miserably, to read their lips and find out what they were saying.

Obviously after giving me a speech about how I shouldn't be sad that it, the kiss, didn't happen but happy that it almost did.

And let's be honest he was right. Baby steps, okay?

"I'm just intimidated by how fly Big Red looks in that suit he borrowed from Ricky," Red says again in a weird, deeper voice. "Don't be intimidated, be inspired," he says in a higher voice.

This dude is one of my favorite people in the world.

"–Big Red is an underrated style legend, dude."

"Dude... You're an idiot," I say to him, a smile on my face.

Even if the kiss didn't happen, this was probably one of the best nights of my life though I can't say the same for Lu.

But I wasn't fully worried for her, she is tough and can defend herself, therefore I'm just keeping an eye on the situation.

And I was right because when we turned back to them, Lu was emptying a cup full of punch right on James's head. See? Badass.

"Damn..." I said, biting my bottom lip to keep myself from smiling too big. And that's when it hit me. This was my fault.

Lu's night was a mess and it was my fault. Fuck.

Will I ever do something right? Maybe, one day, hopefully.

My eyes were trained on Lucia as she walked out of the gym, she was fuming and it was no secret but I decided to not look at her, instead, I turned my gaze to James, just in case he decided to follow her, which I was not going to let him do. And as I said, James started to stomp his way out of the gym.

"Leave," Big Red said, looking at me. "Go get her before he does,"

Couldn't have said it better.

I didn't think it twice before I sprinted out of the gym. The suit made it really awkward for me to run but I didn't care, I ran and turned a corner and that's when I saw her. It was the hallway where her locker is. Lu was sitting on the floor, resting right below her locker.

"Hey," I whispered to her, taking the spot next to her on the floor.

"Hi," she said in a low voice.
