Kirishima blinked, eyes widening a little more. Bakugou's expression didn't change, the same serious look staring into familiar red eyes.
"You don't mind it?" He cautiously asked, wondering if he'd asked the right question to get the answer he was looking for.
"If it keeps that asshole away from you then go telling everyone that we're married with three kids."
Oh. So he was joking? But it really didn't seem like it. There's no way he'd seriously say that though, right? His tone didn't suggest he was kidding.
"Anyway, I've... kinda got something I wanna talk to you about," Bakugou continued, shuffling his glass about a bit so he could distract his eyes.
That caught Kirishima's attention immediately. Those words, or ones of similar nation, never left Bakugou's mouth. Not to him, at least. Hell, they ended up in this exact situation because the blonde struggled with saying those exact words.
"Everything okay?" Kirishima's entire demeanour changed immediately, the thoughts previously contaminating his mind fading out to let this take priority.
It was almost actually scary. Bakugou had assumed that just because things had been going his way recently that the streak would, for some reason, continue. It was only in that moment he remembered his doubt, remembered why he hadn't already said this years ago. It wasn't just as easy as saying it because he was in a good mood.
"Yeah, yeah. It doesn't matter actually, not important." He coughed, taking a drink, knowing for a fact that his attempt at not being suspicious had failed exponentially.
"You sure?"
"Yeah. Don't worry. I'll text you later."
That was Kirishima's way of knowing that something was definitely bothering him, but it was another case of him not being able to push himself to say it.
As Bakugou reached his home, he pulled his phone out before even getting out of the car. His frustration had only risen since earlier.
He was so confident when talking to Uraraka, maybe even started to believe that he had a big chance.
Hell, he honestly still did. It wasn't a complete shot in the dark that Eijirou was at least open to try dating him.
He sent a text, receiving a response that he looked at once he'd got inside.
