Chapter 10-Nightmares Return

"Get up we got to go" I say quickly running to the exit.

Evan and Freddy run behind me. I quickly scanned the parking lot til I found Carter's lime green Camaro.

I sprinted towards it and made it there with a breathe to spare.

"Detective Thomas called he needs us at our meeting place NOW" I say.

Carter's face turns to rage and Ivory turns pale.

"Get in the car Ivory" Carter says.

She does what she is told.

"I will ride with Evan and Freddy" I say.

Carter nods and looks at Evan.

"Make sure she gets there" he says.

Evan nods as Carter hops in his Camaro.

We quickly get inside the truck. I grabbed the keys from Freddy and started the truck. It roared to life and I quickly got on to the road and to the country.

*1 hour later*

I made it to Ivory's grandma's house. She had a safe house underground in her corn fields.

We used it one time before. Carters Camaro was parked in the yard and so wat Detective Thomas's squad car.

I hopped out and grabbed Evan and Freddy's hands so they wouldnt get lost through the corn fileds.

I ran up the familiar path til I found the patch of leaves. I quickly found the handle and opened it.

I let go of the Reese brothers and walked down the steps to the bottom of the safe house.

Carter was there with Ivory laying on the small bed next to him. She was staring into space and I knew exactly why.

"Lilly you made sure nobody was following you right?" Detective Thomas said startling me.

I turned towards the chair in the corner and looked at him.

I quickly ran over to hug him.

"Detective Thomas I missed you" I whispered.

He let out a sigh.

"I missed you too little head but didnt I tell you to call me Thomas?" He says.

I roll my eyes and remember the Reese brothers standing in the room.

"Oh umm Evan and Freddy...This is Detective Thomas....Detective Thomas.... this is Freddy and Evan" I say introducing them.

He shakes both their hands and sits back down rubbing his hand through his salt and peppery hair.

I sit on the floor next to Ivory and Carter.

"Ivory sweetie....Can I tell these two young men what happened?" Thomas asked softly.

Ivory shook her head and sat up pressing her face to Carter's back.

Carter tensed and then took Ivory's hand in his.

"First I need you to know...this isnt some case im working for money...these kids came into my life and changed it completely....im here to help them and if either of you arent here for the same reason I advise you to leave" Thomas starts off.

He waits for them to leave and after a couple of seconds nobody moves so he continues.

"When Lilly, Carter and Ivory were growing up they had a baby sitter named Victor Green he was a mysterious creature.....he was in his 30's and well he was a child molestor....While Lilly was the lucky one Ivory was not. Sad to say..but she was raped by Victor at the age of 12.....Carter here was able to fight him off. Victor also had a son who was in his late teens maybe 15 or 16...His son helped him with these acts...but Carter was so enraged that night....he killed Victor's son...they called me cause ive been a good family friend and well this has been our little secret....what im getting at is...Victor is back and he wants revenge...Ivory is his main target but he is willing to kill anybody who gets in his way...you can back out and I would truly understand but all Im saying is you two have big names around here and I hope you will atleast join the team-"
