"Oh god. Please tell me that you aren't a fan of that douche!?" I say out loud. I don't want to believe it but I'm standing here with my little brothers board in my hand. Kayden Caulfields autograph on the top corner. "He's not a douche!" Colton says defensively "He's a god." he rips his board out of my grip and flips me off. "I feel so betrayed." I groan but Colton isn't listening to me, he's admiring his board. "Regina! Say something to him!" I look to her for help. We've left the skate park and are now walking down the boardwalk. Regina looks at me from under her hood. I don't understand why she hides her face but I'm giving her the space I believe she needs to feel more comfortable here at Seacaster. I know the last 3 years have been rough for her and that with time she will open up. "I don't know what you want me to say, Trevor." She answers shrugging "He... seems nice." at that I laugh "Nice?" I repeat her words "You think Kayden Caulfield is nice?! He's not nice." I stop in front of the BST skate shop and they turn to me. "Okay, I'm only going to say this once." I look seriously between them "Kayden is my enemy. I don't like the guy. Never have, Never will." "Why? What did he ever do to you?" Regina asks the same time Colton exclaims, "You're just jealous!" I run a hand through my hair, a little frustrated. "It's not about what he did to me, It's about who he is as a person. He's a bad guy, Regina." I try to explain how things are around here but I don't think she understands, my sister has always looked for the good in everyone. "And I'm not jealous Colton." I defend myself "If anyones jealous, it would be Kayden..." he laughs shaking his head "Yeah right! What does FoxWeekly's 4th ranked professional skateboarder have to be jealous about?" I walk into the store and they follow. They are so curious about my relationship with Kayden. I walk up to the front counter and jump onto it, my legs dangling off the side. "Oh I don't know, Maybe because I'm the best rookie skater in the game!" I answer Colton as I look around for the old man. "Oh Trevor, that's so humble of you." I hear as he emerges from the backroom. I smirk at him, "Well, it's true aint it." He scoffs and makes his way over. Regina's cast her gaze to the floor again and Colton stares blankly at him. I realise this time is as good as any for the introductions "Guy's, This is Raymundo. Our grandfather." I say and the two snap their heads towards me. "What?!" They say in unison. They look between each other then at Raymundo. "I'm surprised he hasn't mentioned me." The old man looks at me disapprovingly. "Not once all day." Regina responds and I can tell she's mad at me. "Look. I really didn't know what to say, so I figured I'd just show you." I gesture to Raymundo and then around the store, "That's our grandfather and this is our families skate and surf shop." "This is a conversation that should be had at the dinner table, Tevor." Raymundo says sternly as he turns around "Come on. I'll drive us home. I've just closed up anyway." he grumbles and I jump off the counter.

Once in the car, I buckled up in the front seat. Regina and Colton glare at me from the back. The old man drives us home, the ride is short and quiet. At home we sit at the table as the old man makes dinner, it's pasta. He puts our plates in front of us and I dig in, momentarily looking towards Regina and Colton as they play with their food. Both are very wary and anxious of the old man as he joins us at the table. He doesn't eat, just smokes his cigarette. I can tell that he's nervous, He wants them to like him but he's not good with people. Over the year, I warmed up to Raymundo. He's a good man and he cares about us, I hope they realise that soon. "You shouldn't wear your hood at the table." He says breaking the silence. Colton puts his fork down and glares at him. Raymundo reaches his hand out towards Regina's hood and she flinches. He drops his hand instantly, "Don't touch her." Colton says and Regina puts her hand over his, stopping him from saying anything else. "It's okay. He didn't do anything." she assures Colton as she lifts her hood off. She looks at our grandfather "I'm sorry... we haven't had good experience with older men." Our grandfather visibly stiffens putting out his cigarette. His eyes roam her face, he notices the slight bruising on her cheek and her cut lip. "Who did this to you?" he asks but Regina looks to her plate, not saying anything. He stands up abruptly and she flinches, Colton gets up and backs away from the table. A look of rage is on Raymundo's face as he storms into his room, slamming the door shut. Regina and Colton look to me and I shrug "You'll get used to him." I say in between bites. "He'd not a bad man." We hear Raymundo's muffled voice through the door, he's shouting at someone over the phone. "Trust me, It wasn't all me. He's worked really hard to get you here." I try to convince them but they look at me doubtfully. We hear banging and the breaking of glass coming from his room. "Trust me." I say as I take another bite. "You guys should really eat." I continue, looking at their full plates "I'm not hungry." Regina says as she turns to Colton, he returns to her side. She gets him to sit down and eat. "You're so skinny..." I say a little concerned. "You do eat don't you?" She rolls her eyes at me "You worry too much." she says "I am the appropriate weight for my height." "She eats a lot." Colton says with a mouth full of pasta. I nod my head, glad to know that I have nothing to worry about. "I suppose you just have a dancer's figure..." I say a little excited to tell her what I've done for her. She laughs "I haven't danced in a long time." "You were so talented... and I happen to know a couple others that thought so too." I lean back in my seat as she looks at me questionably. "What do you mean?" "What I mean is that I took your videos and awards to Bellhampton, The private school in the city and they've offered you a full scholarship!" I say anticipating her reaction. "But what about Colton? What about you?" she mutters "Well. He'll be with me at Westbrook grammar." "The public school?" Colton asked and I nod. I'm confused as to why she doesn't look too happy. "I don't know how I feel about being separated from you two." She says and I begin to understand "The school's are just two blocks away from each other." I reason and she relaxes to the idea just a bit. "Plus it's a really good school, you'll have a better chance at getting into an Ivy League college if you go there." "but I don't dance anymore-" "They know." I interrupt her, really trying my best to convince her. "They understand and are willing to train you at the dance company across the road. They see potential in you, Regina." She looks away from me "What if I don't want to dance." I stare at her dumbfounded, I lean against the table "What do you want to do then?" She runs a hand through her hair "I don't know." "Then what better than going to one of the best schools in the country to figure it out?" She looks at me then "All they ask from you is to dance." I say grabbing her hand from across the table. "You'll have the freedom to do whatever you want after that." She nods her head, a spark in her eyes. "Okay." "Okay?" I ask and she smiles "I'll do it. I'll go." I get up and hug her, I know she'll do great things.
