Trevor
"What are you doing here." I growl at the door, "We need to talk." responds Kayden as he finishes off a cigarette on my front porch. "I don't have anything else to say to you." I begin to close the door but Raymondo hits the back of my head. Ouch. He opens the door fully "Please. Come in." he huffs before making his way to the lounge. I look between the two, outraged. "Don't invite him in!" I hiss "He's a vampire, a fucking leech. Once he's allowed in its over-" "I didn't know you were into that kind of shit, Trevor." Kayden interrupts mockingly "Does twilight really get you off or something?" He puts out his cigarette and we glare at each other as he enters the house. I grit my teeth and I am about to tell him where he can stick it when his dad, Mr.Caulfield, walks through the door having just ended a call. "Behave yourself Kayden." he says as he puts his phone in his pocket. Kayden scoffs "I will if he does." Raymundo gets off the couch to greet his dad, "Charles! It's been a long time." The two shake hands "Thanks for that call and doing what you had done for Regina." the old man continues as Mr.Caulfield looks around the house, as if he's reliving old memories. "I'm happy to have helped Raymundo." He says looking back at him "She's a lovely girl, she just had too much to drink." he chuckles and Raymundo takes them to the dining room table. I pause "What the fuck is going on!" I say and Raymundo looks at me sternly "Watch yourself boy. We've got company." "BAD COMPANY" I correct him, watching as they take seats at the table. Mr.Caulfield laughs "So much like his father this one." he says to Raymundo who shakes his head "You have no idea." My hands curl into fists and I slam the table. Everyone turns to me, "I am nothing like my father." I hiss. I really wanted to make that clear to them. He's the kind of person who abandons you when you need him the most, why would I want to be compared to him. "Trevor?" I hear and my body relaxes, I turn to Regina who hesitates at the door before coming to my side. She puts her hand on my shoulder "Are you okay?" she asks as she looks from me to them. "Yeah.." I mumble putting a hand over hers reassuringly "Thank you." I say to her and she smiles at me before her gaze goes to Kayden. They look at each other for a moment too long and I grit my teeth. "Don't look at her." I say to him as I move her from his sight. He gets up abruptly, his chair scratching against the floor. "I've had enough of you telling me what I can and can not do!" he growls and we face each other. "BOYS!" shouts Raymundo. "This is exactly why we are all here! We are going to talk this out." Kayden looks from him to his dad who nods his head. Kaydens jaw tightens as he takes his seat. "I thought we've already had this talk." I say to Raymundo "This talk is different, this one is best to have without Colton at the table." he responds. I look behind me to Regina who takes my hand, leading me to my chair. She takes her seat and I follow. We sit in silence before Mr.Caulfield leans forward "We are here to talk about what happened." he looks between Regina and Kayden. "We just want to know the truth between you two." says Raymundo "...and if you are being safe." he adds and I look at him disgusted "There's nothing to know!" I say "because there is nothing going on between them, I won't allow it." "Trevor, they're both old enough to make their own decisions and if-" he starts to respond but I shake my head. "NO absolutely not." I say again. Kayden scoffs "For someone who says they're not their father you sure as hell act like one." "AND WHAT would you know about that?" I defend "YOu have a dad and you've never had to look out for anyone but yourself!" his fists tighten on the table as we glare at each other. "What does he mean by that..." I hear Mr.Caulfield say to my grandfather and I turn to him. "I mean that he's not here, he's been gone for years." "Where is he?" he asks me and I shake my head "Hell if I know." "a-and your mother... where is she?" he asks concerned and I cast my head to the ground. "She passed away ... about 4 years ago." I hear Regina answer for me. "Dad, are you okay?" Kayden says next and I lift my head. Mr.Caulfield has gone a bit pale and a look of remorse is cast over his features. "I'm sorry you had to find out like this." Says Raymundo patting his shoulder, "I thought you knew..." he trails off and Mr.Caulfield shakes his head "No. I'm sorry for your loss." He looks around the table at us, "It's my fault that I didn't know, I've been out of touch for so long." he turns back to Raymundo and the two share a look that none of us understand. "Its fine, I was also not myself for a long time. Not until I had to shape up and take in these guys." "But Trevors been here for a year... and Regina's only moved here about a month ago." Kayden states "Where were they before that?" he asks looking between each of us. "Foster care." Raymundo answers. From the corner of my eye I see Regina's hand shake on the table, I put my hand over hers and she looks at me gratefully. "So you've been separated from each other?" Mr.Caulfield asks and we nod our heads, "Growing up must've been very hard for you..." I sit up in my chair, I've had enough with their pity. "We've managed." I finally say "We've made it this far on our own-" "but we are grateful to have Raymundo." Regina says over me "without him we'd never be able to reunite as a family." I nod my head agreeing.
"Now... is this really what we were supposed to be talking about?" I say wanting to change the subject. "I mean we can talk about Regina and I's sex life again if you want." Kayden jokes and I scowl at him. "You wish you had a sex life." I retort and he glares back at me. "No. actually..." Mr.Caulfield says "Neither of those things are what we really wanted to talk about." Raymundo chimes in "We wanted to talk about the relationship you two share." Kayden and I look questionably at each other before bursting into laughter. "What relationship?" Kayden asks before I comment "I hate this fucking guy." "This is exactly what we are talking about." Mr.Caulfield interrupts our laughter "I personally would like to see you two get along... just as I had with Trevor's father. We were best friends." Pfft. "and look how that turned out." I say rolling my eyes, "Where's your best friend now?" I hiss and Kayden says "You see! That right there is why we can't be friends." he turns to his dad "How do you expect me to be friends with a foul mouthed, cock sure, son of a bitch!?" I scowl at him as Mr.Caulfield responds "Well actually. I think you too are more alike than you think." Regina begins to giggle and we all turn to her, she holds a hand over her mouth trying to suppress her laughter. Mr.Caulfield smiles at her adoringly. "I agree with Mr.Caulfield." she says smiling back at him. "Please.Call me Charles." He says reaching his hand out to her, she takes it and he lays a kiss to the back of it. A harsh blush floods Regina's cheeks and I rip her hand out of his. "DAD!" Kayden bursts the same time I shout "Raymundo! Are you going to sit there and let him hit on your granddaughter?" the old man scoffs "He's harmless, the one you should be worried about is sitting across from you." "THis is exactly what I'm talking about!" I huff in frustration "I can't be friends with him knowing that the second I turn my back he's banging my sister." "and I can't be friends with him if I can't bang his sister." Kayden says antagonising me and I growl at him. "What about what I want?" Ragina says and we turn to her once again. She looks around the table "What do you want, lovely?" asks Mr.Caulfield and I gag. "I want you guys to be friends." she says looking between us before landing her gaze on me. "It's for the best, nationals is just around the corner." I groan throwing my head back and she turns to me, putting a hand on my shoulder. "Believe me, there is nothing going on between me and Kayden." I turn to her then "How could you expect me to believe that?" I say looking at the hickeys on her neck. She blushes and adjusts her collar but it does nothing to hide it. "Nothing happened!" she insists "I was drunk, all I remember is someone escorting me to the penthouse where I was left to stumble around in the dark! The first room I found was the one I passed out in, it just so happened that it was Kaydens." "It could be true." says Mr.Caulfield "Kayden insists that nothing happened either." and Kayden nods. "ARE YOU BLIND?" I say looking at everyone unbelievably. "am I the only one who sees those hickeys?" "Well..." Mr.Caulfield hesitates looking to Regina "She could of gotten them from Louis." he says and I stiffen, Louis? "Who's Louis?" I ask as I look to Kayden, seeing if he knows anything about this. He doesn't, he sits there glaring at the table. "He's a nice enough kid, signs lead in the band I hire to play at one of the clubs." he answers "When I walked in, him and your sister had been ...close." he finishes and Regina holds her face in her hands. She's so embarrassed. "Is this true?" I ask and she nods. "You see, nothing happened between your sister and Kayden. It was all just a big misunderstanding." says Raymundo "You two have no reason to fight." "Oh there's a reason, there is always a reason." I say looking back at Kayden who's gone quiet. "Fine." he finally says back, looking up from the table. "I can't promise to be friends with him but I can promise to try and get along." "Great." Raymundo says before turning to me expectantly. I give in, rolling my eyes "Fine. Whatever." I say leaning back into my chair and crossing my hands over my chest. Kayden stands abruptly and leaves, we all watch as he goes. Mr.Caulfield turns to my grandfather telling him to stay in touch as he follows his son out the door. "Finally" I scoff, glad that they had suddenly left.
