"What's cookin' good lookin?"
"Nothing, because we ran out of food."
A loud bang was heard, and Horror dashed inside the kitchen, his eye sockets wide open in shock. "WHAT?!"
"We ran out of food," you bluntly pointed out.
"P R E P O S T E R O U S !"
Lust rolled his eyes at the dramatic display Horror was showing. Food was important, sure, but drama queen much?
For some reason, that sounded hypocritical.
You slowly start double-checking your wallet. As normal, your credit cards are present—hopefully none of them have expired yet; renewing them was always a tedious affair. Your cash was liberally placed specifically for the groceries you planned to buy today.
"Are you going out to buy some food?" Horror asked, a sudden deranged look on his skeletal face. "Can I come with you?"
"Are you crazy?" You gave him an incredulous look. "After what you did to that hotdog stand last time? Hell no."
"Please, woman, I need sustenance!" Horror pleaded.
"Stop whining; I'm not going to let you starve, okay?" You squished his cheekbones, which you thought was impossible, but it happened. "I'll make sure you get twice the serving."
"Wonderful." Horror gripped both your wrists painfully, but you shrugged it off with an awkward smile.
As Horror left with a series of whoops and yells, Lust placed his right leg on top of the other while crossing his arms. He gave you a disapproving glance.
"Stop treating him like a child, babe," he pointed out. "It's kind of unfair for the rest of us, y'know?"
"Blue says otherwise." You chuckled and exited the kitchen, but not without giving him a friendly pat on the skull.
Lust scoffed and brushed your hand away, a clear magenta dusting his cheekbones. You always did this to him, and every time you did, a sensation he hadn't felt in a long time gradually developed inside his spirit. It was odd.
You swiftly went up to your room to change. I should bring one of the skeletons to help me carry the groceries. You thought.
When you entered your room, your eyes opened at the disorganized display on the walls. "Ink, are you serious?"
Ink froze in mid-posture, avoiding your stare. He was on top of your table, his hand elevated over his head, and a crayon was trapped between his phalanges. Your wall was covered in strange scribbles and drawings. When he finally looked at you, his multicolored eyes widened into exclamation points.
"Dude, what the fuck?" Your temper boiled as you approached him. "This is the fifth time this week! You seriously need to stop before I take Error's offer about—"
"Okay, okay! I'll stop," Ink said as he raised both his arms in surrender and hopped off your table. "Just don't team up with Error, please."
You let out a distraught sigh. You're going to have to repaint the walls again.
"No promises, Ink." He shrugged lightly at the reply. Before he could actually leave your room, though, you forcefully, but not painfully, pulled him by his scarf and brought him close.
"Oh no, you're not escaping from me this time." You stared deeply into his colorful eyes. "Put your casual clothes on before I do it myself; we're buying groceries."
You then pushed him out of your room. "This is going to be a long day."
