"fractured in fragments,
us fragile things.
falling to pieces
but we're all
the same broken parts"

___

Nakahara Chuuya never met someone as adaptable as [Last Name] [Name] is, and that's what makes her very much likable.

Ever since the [Hair Color] haired girl set sights on him and told him he's cute, Chuuya never got the chance to steer his thoughts away from the girl. Well, at least when he's on his off duty days .

"Would you mind telling where the fuck we're going?" Chuuya asks the dark brown haired male, also known as Dazai, his partner for now, at least.

Ever since he was captured and black mailed to join Port Mafia, a lot has happened. He couldn't help but wonder what his group, the Sheeps, were up to.

Hands stuffed in his pockets, Chuuya glanced at his other companion. A very complex girl to understand and also Dazai's partner, [Last Name] [Name]. The aforementioned girl's job was kind of hard to understand. She was never an executive yet held such power among the Mafia. She was like Mori's right hand but not quite.

From Chuuya's understanding, [Name] was here from the start, working for the Mafia even before Dazai joined.

"Sorry, would you mind not talking to me? I'm too busy breathing right now." came Dazai's respond to Chuuya's question, making [Name] laugh. The redhead gritted his teeth as he calmed himself down. They were on the way to  a new mission, after all.

Chuuya's eyes travelled to the only girl in their group of 15 year olds. She, as always was wearing her off shoulder black dress, paired with black doll shoes. Her fedora hat is present as always, same with her knee length fur coat.

The girl is [Name], her likes can never be determined, same with her dislikes and such. Her dream is unknown, same with her motives. She's cold yet she's bright. She gives off warmth yet she can turn you into ice in just a glance.

If Chuuya could compare [Last Name] [Name] with an animal, she'd be a chameleon. There was no way in which someone could know what her real personality is like. Chuuya knows no one could read her.

'Maybe there is someone' Chuuya thought as he stole another glance at Dazai. The latter's intelligence was scary. Whatever he lacked in hand to hand combat, he made up with his intelligence, leaving no openings for his enemy.

'The scariest thing about being Dazai's enemy is that they are Dazai's enemy.' Chuuya observed, being lost in his own thoughts.

___

Dazai Osamu knew Nakahara Chuuya was being perplexed by [Last Name] [Name] the same way he is. The former knew by the way Chuuya was stealing glances between him and the girl. Dazai also knows that Chuuya thinks Dazai has figured out who or what [Name] is actually like.

That was  actually the problem, you see. Dazai Osamu's only unsolved mystery is [Last Name] [Name]. Most of the times he can read her, most of the times he can't.

In his eyes, she was like a  chameleon of some sorts. Very camouflaged and adaptable. She can be comfortable and calm in any situation she's thrown at.

The said girl was staring up ahead, lost in her own thoughts as if her mind was clouded up in mist  that she, herself created. Her eyes were empty, almost as empty as Dazai's were.

"[Name]." Chuuya called, making Dazai glance in Chuuya's direction.  [Name] too, also glanced at the regard , raising an eyebrow as if saying 'continue'.

"What were you doing before you joined Port Mafia?" Chuuya couldn't help but asked.

From the way that Chuuya has been lost in his own thoughts for a while now, Dazai presumed the latter was thinking about the events that has happened. And yet again, he's right.

"Hmm, what was I doing before Port Mafia?" the girl mumbled, staring off into the space again as if skimming through her memories of her life for the past fifteen years.

"I'll treat you to a bottle of 1910 Vintage Wine if you guessed correctly." The calm girl said, looking up to the sky, yet again as she made a condition.

Dazai glanced at Chuuya who seems to be in deep in shock,

"How'd you know?" Chuuya asks. The girl just smiled and shrugged. Chuuya was indeed, shocked. Despite knowing him for a day or two, [Name] already guessed what was his likes. That included wine, vintage ones too. Vintage wines always tasted the best, after all. The older the wine is, the better; the more expensive, the more luxurious it is.

Minutes had passed but Chuuya has yet to guess anything at all. [Name] laughed at this. Her laugh was so refreshing to hear, both boys could agree on this.

Dazai has been questioning his sanity for a while now. He wanted nothing but to wake up from the oxidizing world we call reality. He wanted to escape, he wanted to wake up. Yet these days, he was thinking the actual opposite.

Maybe the reason he joined the Mafia was to find something, something that is worth living for. Maybe even to find the reason why people around him value life so much. Why people scream in anguish as they watch their lives ones perish. Maybe they have something in this oxidizing dream worth their while.

But maybe, maybe, this world has something worth staying for. For him, at least.

"Before I joined Port Mafia? I was a stray dog." [Name] said, finally giving Chuuya a vague but honest answer.

What was being a stray dog actually mean? Maybe they were all stray dogs in their own little ways. Some may be rabid, some may be wretched or some may just be lost. Most importantly, some may just be there to give Dazai a reason to stay, for just a little bit more.

And that may be [Name].

At least that's what Dazai knew when he looked at [Name] again.

[Last Name] [Name] oddly felt like the calm before the storm. She indeed was as the next thing the trio heard were gunshots from the GSS.

That day, Chuuya couldn't believe the coldness and ruthless person Dazai is. Same with [Name] as she didn't even attempt to stop Dazai from killing the already dead man. What's worse is that she laughed alongside with him.

What's worse is that she laughed alongside with him
