I'm sorry you had to see me like this. I didn't realise it would upset you, I've just missed you so much. I was worried that you might feel weird about all the stupid medical equipment they've put into my house, but I didn't think it would make you cry. I was weak but I forced myself to stand up so I could hug you because I really needed it. When you asked why the medical stuff was here, I lied.
"My mom is sick and this is all to help keep her condition stable," I told you. You believed it when you saw her walk downstairs though. She hasn't been sleeping much lately, probably because she's got so much she deals with all the time, so she looks sick. She hasn't been eating properly either.
I don't want to lie to you, but I don't want to hurt you.
