Sorry this is so late :/ Life and shit.
Priscilla made her way out of the shower to her closet, pulling on a sweater and a pair of black slacks. Now at twenty-eight weeks, she was trying to patiently await the next twelve weeks.
Going downstairs, she found Scott and Janice watching movies in the front room. “Come on, Janice.”
Janice got up from sitting with her uncle and went to join her aunt. “Bye, Scott,” Priscilla called as she grabbed her car keys and motioned for Janice to follow her out.
“Where are you taking her?” Scott asked.
“To lunch. You’re not allowed to tell me no.”
The two made their way to lunch, Priscilla playing her Pandora. When Lil Freak by Usher came on, she didn’t bother changing the station even after she heard Janice singing along to it. It didn’t bother her one bit, but she knew Scott would be mad at her if he heard Janice singing and Priscilla allowing it. This was precisely the reason Scott had told her no every Saturday for the past six weeks, but she didn’t care. Penelope wanted to meet this little girl, and she was getting annoyed about being asked.
“Your uncle told me to limit my use of the word ‘fuck’ today,” Priscilla announced, glancing over at Janice. “Just to be perfectly clear, that’s not going to happen. If he asks, it did, though.
“Okay.”
Priscilla pulled into the parking lot and grabbed her purse from the back seat as the roof was going back up. She put her hand on Janice’s back, leading her in. Just as they reached the reception area, Penelope showed up, and Janice began to freak out, squealing.
Priscilla frowned, looking over at the teenager and gripping her arm. “Are you okay, honey?” she asked as Janice practically shook, just short of jumping up and down.
“Oh my God, Aunt Priscilla, don’t you know who that is?”
Priscilla followed Janice’s eyes to Penelope and her brows furrowed in as her lips pursed. “Yes, I know exactly who she is.”
Penelope came over with a grin at her sister. “Hey, Prissy. Who’s this?” she asked, looking over at Janice who was frozen in excitement, her eyes wide.
“You know her?” Janice whispered, her eyes glued to Penelope.
Priscilla rolled her eyes. “Nelly, this is Scott’s niece, Janice. Jan, this is my sister, Penelope.”
“It’s nice to meet you, Janice. You’re pretty.”
“Thank you.”
“Okay, what is your deal, Jan?” Priscilla asked.
Penelope chuckled at her sister and turned to the hostess. “Holcomb, party of four,” she told her.
“Right this way, ladies.”
Janice followed behind Penelope eagerly. “Um, hello? Janice.”
“I told you I was the shit,” Penelope told her sister, sitting at the table where Phoebe was waiting. She looked up from her phone at hearing Penelope’s voice.
“Phoebe, this is Janice, Scott’s niece,” Penelope introduced, sliding into the booth. “Janice, this is Phoebe.”
“Hi, Janice,” Phoebe greeted, sliding her phone into her purse. “I ordered appetizers. Oh, look, there they are.”
A waiter came and placed a tray on the table, smiling over at Phoebe who returned his smile before he turned to the newcomers. “Would you ladies like a few minutes to order?”
