It's been a few weeks and Jacob has been feeling great. Wayne moved into an apartment in the town so he could be close to us and his parents. Ryder and the guys have been very busy with work, so it's just been the girls at home. Lindsey has kept her distance from May because truly she just hates her, but surprisingly May has come around and asked me a few questions about her pregnancy. We were now all in the kitchen making dinner.
"I'll start setting the table," May smiled and grabbed the plates. The door opened and the guys came in slowly.
"You guys feed us too well," Luke walked into the kitchen and smelt the food.
"Tables all set!" May walked back in and the guys all nodded.
"Where's my nephew?" Nathan opened his arms and Jacob perked up from his high chair. Nathan lifted him up as I turned the stove off and wiped my hands on my apron.
"Let's eat, I'm starving," Lindsey smiled and the guys nodded. They all walked into the dining room leaving me and Ryder. We've been doing good. He's just been so busy it's hard to spend time with him.
"Did you have a good day?" Ryder wrapped his hands around my waist as he stood behind me.
"Yeah, I cleaned up the house when Lindsey took Jacob to the park after her class," he nodded and kissed my cheek. "How was your day?" He shrugged and sighed.
"Some of my business partners didn't show up to the meeting to talk about funds and some idiots won't pay me," I nodded. "I missed you and JB today," I turned and gave him a small kiss.
"We missed you too, now how about you help me take the food in there," he chuckled and nodded. We carried in the food as everyone sat together as a family. Everyone started digging in as I went back to the kitchen and got the high chair. I set it next to my seat as Ryder held Jacob.
"The soup is delicious Mads!" Alec pointed at his bowl and I smiled.
"Thank you, I had help of course," I looked at Lindsey and May.
"Oh please, all we really did was bake the bread and be taste testers," Lindsey joked and May nodded.
"Plus keeping Jacob busy," May smiled and I nodded. It went quiet as everyone ate until the doorbell rang. Ryder looked up confused and checked his phone. He dialed a number and then pressed it too his ear.
"Hey Oliver, who did you let past the gate?" We all looked at him. He set his spoon down and looked at me. "No she doesn't," he stood up and reached for his holster. The guys all did the same and I covered Jacobs eyes. "We got it," he hung up and looked at all of us. "Go upstairs and lock yourselves in the bathroom, don't come out unless one of us comes and gets you," we nodded as I picked up Jacob. I led Lindsey and May to the bathroom and then locked the door.
"You two get in the tub, Lindsey, keep Jacob with you ok?" She looked at me confused. "Just in case," she nodded and got into the bathtub. I pulled the curtain past them and looked under the sink counter. I saw a nail filer and then stood by the door. It was quiet for awhile until the door handle started twisting and the door unlocked. The door opened and I held the filer tightly. I heard footsteps and once I saw the shoes I slammed the door shut and jumped on whoever's back.
"What the hell!" I looked down and saw Paul. I dropped the nail filer as May opened the curtains. "Jesus Christ! You scared the hell out of me," I got off of Paul as he panted.
"Sorry, you could of just said who you were!" I looked at him as he looked at me shocked.
"Ryder told me not too," I looked at him confused.
"I wanted to see what they would do," Ryder spoke scaring us all. "Nail file? Good choice and jump attack, you're a natural baby!" Ryder smiled at me and I rolled my eyes at him. Lindsey got up holding Jacob and shook her head.
"You're just lucky she didn't attack like she usually does," Paul nodded as Lindsey handed me Jacob. May got up and Ryder turned to me seriously.
"Someone's here to see you," he lifted Jacob from me and I looked at him confused. We all walked downstairs and their was a man in the middle of the room. He turned and he looked at me surprised.
"Madelyn," he walked over to me and I took a step back.
"Sorry, do I know you?" He scratched his neck and took a step back.
"Right sorry, um no you don't, but I'm your brother," Lindsey gasped behind me and I looked at him confused. "Mom and dad put me up for adoption when I was born, I guess they never told you," I shook my head. "I'm Spencer," he stuck his hand out and I looked behind me at Ryder. He was bouncing Jacob gently and nodded at me. I turned and shook Spencer's hand.
"I'm Madelyn as you know, this is my best friend Lindsey, my other friend May, I'm also guessing you met all the guys, and well this is my son Jacob," Spencer looked at Jacob shocked and then me. His expression left as Ryder handed me Jacob.
"Wow," Spencer looked at him and set his hand on Jacobs. "That's so weird, I'm an uncle," he chuckled and I smiled. All the guys chuckled and shrugged.
"You get use to it," Nathan joked and Spencer nodded.
"When did you find out about the adoption?" I looked at Spencer as he sighed.
"I've known about it for awhile, it was hard to find my real parents though. It was a closed adoption and they didn't leave anything with me, I've been doing years of research trying to find anything until I found dads business," I nodded as I set Jacob down. We all sat down and talked for a while until Spencer had to go. We set up a time where we all could see each other again and I could tell Jacob was excited for that.
