 Canada's p.o.v

I get up before everyone, trying not to make a sound. I felt crazy, was I really going to do this? I quickly and quietly searched around for anything we would need, but try not to grab too much stuff, so I don't have to carry it all. I open the closet, not the one to the staircase because that's where America was locked in, and grab a messanger bag, struggling to take it off the hook because of how high up it was. The phone started to ring louldly and I jumped at the sudden loud sound. It was going to wake them up! I drop the messenger bag and run to the phone picking it up. I'm used to running to the phone because Aussie always tries to answer the phone first, so I have to get there before him.

"Hello?" I say into the phone not to loud.

"Hola querida! (Hello dear!), its Aunt Spain, how are you doing?" She asked in a cheerful tone.

I wondered how she could be so awake at this time of day, but then I remembered time zones existed.

"Uh...pretty good." I answered shyly.

"Ah, bueno (Ah, good). is Britian home by chance?" She asked

I panicked and spit out the first thing that had came to mind:

"Uh well, darn you had just missed him..he uh went out to the store, so he can't talk."

"Oh well, tell him I called, will you dear? Oh and cousin Mexico wants to talk!" She said the last part weirdly which meant Mexico doesn't really want to talk but she wants him to talk to me, so I'm gonna have to talk to him. I could hear shuffling from the other line.

"Hola amigo (Hello friend), who is this?" I could hear Mexico's voice from the other line.

"Oh hi Mexico, it's Canada." I replied.

"Oh hey Canada, what's up?" He said pretty calmly.

"Nothing much." There was an awkward silence. "Well I got to go, so see ya around Mexico!" I rushed trying to get out of the dry conversation and try to hurry packing before dad wakes up.

"Adiōs." He says and I hang up. I sighed thankful that Aunt Spain didn't ask all these questions about school and such, like always does.

Though I read books about kids who ran away, I didn't really know what I was doing. I just felt like a crazy person the whole time. Then it hit me, New Zealand. She's still a baby/toddler so how am I going to be able to take care of her. Dad would never take care of her if we left her behind, so I have to try. I know that this is a stupid idea but I'm going with it. Everything in my body is telling me that this isn't right and it's stupid but I was going to do it anyway.

I finally finish stuffing everything into the messenger bag. I had to do this carefully or else I would get caught and I had to get my brothers to agree. I slowly tip-toe up the stairs and walk into Australia's room. I took a deep breath and tried to focus. Going over to Aussie I slightly shake him and he groans.

"Hey Aussie can you come downstairs for me?" I ask smiling.

"Why?" He yawns, now opening his eyes to see me.

"Can you just do it please?" I ask almost begging.

"Fine..." he kicks his blankets off and stands up. I let out an puff, confidently.

"I'll be down there in one second!" I say speed walking into Ame's room. I shake him until he opens his eyes and looks at me tired and irritated.

"What do you want?" He asked not meaning for it to come off rudely.

"Come downstairs I got ask you something!" I say excitedly, to hopefully perk his interest.

"Can't you ask me here?" He says generally confused even though what he said sounded like a smart-aleck.

"Nope! Now come downstairs!" I smile innocently. He just pauses, laying still, before groaning and getting up. He followed me downstairs and Aussie was already sitting at the table.

"Oh I almost forgot New Zealand!" I say out loud, jogging upstairs, forgetting I wasn't supposed to make a lot of sound, and grab New Zealand from her crib, bringing her back down.

"So why did you want to bring us down here?" Aussie asks with Ame saying "yeah!" Meaning he had the same question as Aussie.

I took a deep breath once more. "I know this is going to sound crazy, but hear me out...let's run away."

Their faces melt into pure shock from what I just said.

"We aren't being treated correctly here so we should run away, don't you agree we deserve better?" I ask

"Yeah but where are we going to go, and what are we going to do?" Aussie asks pretty maturely and his accent really showing.

"Anywhere, we could explore the world! Like mom..." I say the last part quietly enough so they couldn't hear.

Ame seems alright, he wants to go, he's never liked being cooped up in here. Aussie on the other hand look as if he had just witnessed a murder, he was stumbling his and looked completely stressed out.

"I don't know...I-I...I can't answer that right here, right now! I just really dunno..." He says anxiously, exhaling deeply. I guess it was my bad for making him answer this big of a question on the spot. I don't want to pressure him to come, but I really want him to go, we can't just leave him.

"Okay you can answer that by tomorrow morning if you wish." I say, tomorrow was Sunday so we could still leave in the morning.

He nods and goes over to put his shoes on, he either was going to take a walk to clear his mind or go ask his friends for support. I look over at Ame, examining his new bruise on his cheek, it was dark and very noticeable, I looked like it still hurt. I sigh, we definitely have to get out of here.

In the meantime while waiting for Aussie to have his moment, i have breakfast and cover up Ame's bruise on his cheek, he hated when people said things about them or asked about them, so he always asked to me to cover it up with a bandage, and now it's an instinct. It's kin of sad that he gets hit so many times, I don't even have to think about bandaging it up.

I know dad doesn't hate us, or well I like to believe that and I also believe in 2nd chances. At school when they ask about my family I pretend that I have this perfect family where my dad loves us very much, mom is always home, and everyone's happy. But life is never that easy for anyone. Doesn't matter what you've been through or what's happened, everyone deserves happiness, even my dad.

I look over at Ame playing with New Zealand, both of them smiling.

Yeah, we all deserve happiness...
