Canada's p.o.v
I hid behind a large box, it smelled like old wood. I watched as my siblings layer or played with some of the luggage, I didn't mind though. I was too tired to care. I stayed up almost all night in case something bad happened to Ame.
My eyes started to shut as my eyes lids felt heavy. They would lower and it was hard to open them back up. After a while I snuggled in with the boxes and gave up, drifting off to sleep.
When I woke up, I yawned and stretched. Ame was sleeping on top of the boxes while Kiwi slept on Aussie's shoulder. It already started to feel warmer inside the boat. We must be somewhat close. I pilled up a few boxes on top of each other and climbed up to the small window, boxes shaking underneath me. I saw the moonlight shinning off the dark water. It moved in waves from the boat rocking. I could hear the water crash on itself. I went back drawn and sat on a box waiting for morning.
When morning came I groaned and woke up once again. This time in an awkward position. I then heard a loud sound, it woke the rest of them up, the door was opening! I got up yelling for them to do the same and bolt out of the boat hoping not to get caught. My siblings followed behind and we kept running, far and far away. We finally got to a ice cream store and caught our breath behind a bush.
"Did they see us?" Ame asked.
"I don't think so." Aussie replied.
I looked around, we were here. It was just like as described. The sunlight hit my face and I smiled. We walked around the town, seeing everything. We stopped at the beach to play in the sand, getting ourselves all sandy. We walked on the boardwalk seeing things I've never seen before. And the whole time I just enjoyed being with my siblings. I was 15, I could get a job soon to support for my family. We could stay here together happily. That is until we saw someone.
We were walking on the boardwalk talking, and we saw someone standing alone on the pier, it was a lady with a white dress and a straw hat on. She was taking pictures of the beach, the sight made me curious.
"And then I was like-" I cut off Aussie by tugging him on the arm still looking at the lady.
"What's up 'Nada?" Ame asked me.
"Look; you don't think, do you?" I asked pointing at the lady.
"No way, you're being silly, a lot of people take pictures, but we can check if you would like." Ame turns his head to the side like a confused puppy.
"Let's please look." I say and we start to walk on the pier, my siblings following behind like always. I took a breathe every time I took a step, my heart beat aligning with the crashing waves. The lady turned around, wind blowing through her dress and hat. She held onto her hat so it wouldn't blow away. I memorized that flag...that is...mom.
Mom! It's mom! I missed her so much!
I ran to her and hugged her tightly. She gave out a shocked gasp.
"Mom!" I started to cry.
"Canada? What are you doing here mon amour ( my love)?" Mom shushed my, confused. Ame, Aussie, and Kiwi just stood there though, they didn't know her as well as I did.
"Come here mes enfants (my children)." Mom said and hugged all of us. "Now tell me why you're here."
We told her everything, the whole story of how we got here. At some points she broke down in tears.
"Mes bébés (my babies), I will always protect you." Then she hugged all of us tightly.

Now it's been 2 years since then. I'm 17, Ame's 15, Aussie's 13, and Kiwi is 6. Life has been great now. I work as a cashier in a fast food restaurant. Ame wants to be an astronaut but I won't be surprised if he becomes something with a film degree. Aussie wants to work at a zoo, while Kiwi is getting better at art. It still surprises me how Kiwi doesn't remember anything, but that's makes sense since she was so young. Mom bought a house on the island and now we live there with her. Ame reconnected with Japan on the internet while Aussie did the same with his friends. I have more friends now at work and school. And I love feeling happy, we did have to go to therapy for those 2 years, Ame still is going, but it helped and made me want to help people who are suffering. Mom did divorce dad but we still see him. He got arrested and charged with child abuse and was sent to jail. There he gets therapy and learns from his mistakes. We talk through glass and he tells me how much he's sorry. But I only go to make him happy. Ame doesn't even visit at all. It makes me happy to see him doing better but I can never forgive the things he did, I just won't dwell on them and move forward in life. And he's getting the help he needs so everything is alright.
It's been two years since I saw him, but I promised we's meet again. I saved up all my money to fly there and once I could, I did. They are probably 16 now.
I step up to the familiar front porch and knock on the door. The same thing happened years ago. Th door opened and someone stood in the door frame.
"Hey Ukraine." I say to them smiling.
