This part of the city was so quiet. It kind of creeped me out, not to mention all the stares from tough looking men with probably guns in their pockets. The streets were disgusting, houses and parks looked deserted. I can't help but wonder why. The cat slept in my arms, pouring softly. I stroke my hand through its fur.

Coming up to the street there seemed to be an apartment building. I sigh looking at the very sketchy building, I look down at the cat who woke up and looked at me curiously. I walked and kept checking the tag, going up flight of stairs. It made me sad to see all of these poor and unfortunate homeless people and knowing I couldn't do anything but pity them. Because we too were homeless.

I finally stand in frount of the apartment door and click the doorbell. I wait and it seems to be broken so I loudly knock on the door. There is a sound of things getting pushed out of the way and shuffling. Finally the door makes a click and slightly open enough so I could see their face.

"Uh hello sir, I found your cat." I say motioning towards the cat. He gives an annoyed look, the light from the apartment hall shining on his yellow, blue and red flag.

"I let go of that cat for a reason, kid." He growled, slightly closing the door more.

"You were just going to leave it to die." I say kind of upset.

"Welcome to real life kid, not everyone has enough money for a pet!" He said shutting his door, and I could hear him lock it. I angrily ripped the tag off the collar and threw it on the ground. Then I started to walk out the building.

"Don't worry I'll take care of you." I say to the cat who doesn't really pay attention. I sigh.

I start to walk out of the boundaries of the city, remembering what Soviet said, there was a town not to far from this city and that's most likely where Canada would go. I could only ease drop for a part of it because Kaza kept talking to me. I didn't really know where I was going, I tried to follow signs but I couldn't read what location the arrow was trying to point to since it was in a different language. But I followed my instinct.

"Canada.." I shook him sadly. He didn't respond, just sobbed. People stared at us but I tried to ignore them.

"'Nada." I repeat myself but he still doesn't look up. I felt a harsh tugging at my sleeves, I look up and New Zealand was tugging at them.

"Not now, New Zealand." I told her but she just continued. "I said STOP!" The sentence slips out of my mouth, it was such a mix of emotion you couldn't even tell what my motive of yelling was. She furrowed her brows and I did the same.

Now a bit irritated I shake Canada more, he still doesn't do anything. I scowl angrily and stand up. I call out for New Zealand who left but she isn't anywhere. I instantly panic and look around, she had wondered into the road, now staring at me because I called her name. Without thinking I ran into the road and violently jerked her behind me, pulling my weight forward and accidentally stumbling.

Just a breath, I didn't have time to react. All I know that there were screaming, car screeching, chatter and crimson liquid all over my body, dripping from my mouth and head. I could only hear my breathing, my vision foggy. Last thing I saw was a shocked Canada before blacking out.

More and more walking, until I finally see something that looked like a town. The funny thing is that the closer and closer I got to this town, the hotter it was. In fact by the time I saw the sign to say I was officially, I was sweating. Such an odd thing since it wasn't as freezing as where Soviet's family lived and that house wasn't too far away. This town had many more people, there were things that were built that reminded me of the Middle East. People seemed very friendly.

An odd sight made me turn, a man with a straw hat in the shade was surrounded by thousands of cats. The cat in my arms meowed, also seeming interested in this man. I smile and slowly walk over to him, sitting down. The shade felt nice to the scourging heat. He turned to me and smiled, opening his mouth to talk.
