Lindsey was awoken by the feeling of Stevie’s lips on his neck. Smiling to himself, he wondered how he’d coped with waking up so many mornings without her. Who was he kidding? He hadn’t coped at all. He buried his fingers in her hair as her mouth made its way along his chest.

“Hmm, good morning to me” he said with a low chuckle.

Stevie didn’t respond, instead continued her journey down his abdomen and much to Lindsey’s delight, occasionally nipped his skin with her teeth until she reached the trail of hair that disappeared beneath the waistband of his boxers. Stevie looked up at him, a devilish look on her face. One that Lindsey had had the pleasure of seeing many times. He could feel himself getting harder by the second.

“Oh, so you’re not talking to me this morning, huh? Rude.”

Stevie bit her lip and smiled, shaking her head in response.

“You mean you’re not even going to talk dirty to me? Where is Stevie and what have you done with her?” he asked playfully. A comment that earned him a tweak on the nipple from Stevie.

“Ouch! Yes. Now that’s more like it.”

“Well I was just going to reward you for being such a wonderful, darling man but if you’re gonna behave like this Mister then I may have to reconsider..” an impish smile tugging on the corners of her mouth as she pulled him from his boxers, stroking him slowly but firmly.

Lindsey’s breath hitched and he swallowed hard.

“Do your thing, Miss Nicks.”

And she did. Truthfully, she had wanted to reward Lindsey for being so incredible the night before but a part of her also wanted to give him something before he went to break things off with his “girlfriend”.  They had both always felt ownership over one another and much like Lindsey, Stevie knew she was sexually superior to any girl he would find. And right now was just a reminder. The way he moaned her name and pulled at her hair, the way his hips moved slowly against her mouth were all reminders of her sexual superiority. He was her man and she would be the one to give him everything he’d ever want. That now included a baby and Stevie could not be happier.

When she’d finally brought him to the edge, she kissed his damp forehead, telling him how much she loved him.

“I love you too baby. I’m so happy that you came back to me, Stevie. I feel like the emptiness I’ve been experiencing for the last 2 or 3 years is finally disappearing. I’m a better person when I’m with you. I’m not that asshole everyone seems to think I am.”

“No one’s perfect. Me included. But I love you regardless. And our little one will love their daddy no matter what.” She smiled, kissing his lips one last time.

Lindsey got showered and dressed and kissed Stevie and their baby goodbye. Lately he rarely left without kneeling down to kiss her belly too. He couldn’t wait until she started showing more and was already so in love with his unborn child. Unfortunately, it was time to momentarily break away from the bliss he’d been experiencing. He needed to end things with Carol. The toxicity of the relationship had become even more apparent to him now that things were going well between himself and Stevie.

When he’d arrived back at his house, she was furious and was throwing all kinds of accusations at him, all of which went ignored by him. At times he wondered why she cared. Neither of them had been faithful for the entire relationship. He suspected her fear of losing him was in fact her fear of losing the lifestyle and the money. It troubled him that he had been stupid enough to think that relationship with her was a better alternative to being alone.

“You knocked her up? And she’s keeping it? What happened to you “not being ready to have a family” Lindsey? You piece of shit. I guess I know why you insisted we used protection when we fucked. You were too busy giving it to her!” Carol screamed. “Do you know if it’s even yours? How many were in her bed after you?

Lindsey could feel his temper beginning to rise.

“You know she’s going to “want her freedom” from you again, don’t you? And you’ll be left alone, whining and pining like a pathetic little boy. That kid will be used as a weapon against you for the next 18 years. That’s if she even is able to carry it this time. Unlike the last one-“

“You fucking twisted bitch!” he yelled, grabbing her by the arm and forcing her against the door. “Don’t ever talk about Stevie like that. You don’t talk about or mention my baby, ever! Do you understand me? You listen carefully to me, Carol,” Tightening his grip on her arm “you will get your stuff together and you will get the fuck out of house. You have 3 days or I’ll call the cops to have you removed.”

He let go of her and stormed out of the house, slamming the door so hard he thought he might have broken the glass. The tires of his car spun on the gravel and he sped down the long drive of his home. He was still breathing heavily and his heart was pounding. Lindsey was not proud of his quick temper. It was something he’d struggled with for a long time but the mention of Stevie and his baby had ignited something in him he’d never experienced before. He’d always been defensive about Stevie but it was different now. He would literally die to defend her and his baby.

Stevie paced her living room as she waited for Lindsey to come home. He’d been gone almost 3 hours and it had begun to bother her. He said he wouldn’t be long. It was impossible not to think the worst. Had he changed his mind? Would he decide he wasn’t ready for a family? Stevie had a million thoughts at once, all of which she knew were ridiculous. Dealing with stress wasn't exactly her forte these days, well not without the help of various substances, but turning to cocaine, pot or alcohol was not an option now and it was difficult. She needed him to come home.

Pulling into the drive of Stevie’s house, Lindsey took a deep breath. He didn’t want her seeing how angry he’d been. It’s not something she needed to worry about. Before he could even get in the front door, her arms were around him.

“I’m so glad you’re home. I was worried” The panic was still evident in her voice.

“You have nothing to worry about, baby. It just took a little longer than expected. You know how she is. I went for a drive after to clear my head and calm myself before coming home to you.” Pressing his forehead to hers.

“Come lay down. I’ll give you a massage.” she raised her eyebrows and smiled.

“Hey, aren’t you the pregnant one? I should be giving you massages.”

“Yeah but you can do me after”

“Promise?” he teased. Feeling completely calmed already.

Lindsey took his place on the couch, preparing for the start of a relaxing evening with the love of his life when he heard the sound of the front door swinging open and the sound of Stevie’s voice.

“Just what the fuck are you doing here?”

“I need to speak to Lindsey. I didn’t get to finish my piece. He was too busy screaming in my face and throwing me against walls.”

Lindsey appeared in the front hall, immediately standing between Stevie and his deranged ex-girlfriend.

“You need to leave. Now, before I call the cops.” Lindsey growled.

“That’s no way to talk to your fiancée, Lindsey.” Carol sneered. She looked over Lindsey’s shoulder at Stevie, whose face had turned white as a sheet. “Oh didn’t he mention that to you, Stevie? He proposed to me right after that little altercation you and I had that morning. When you decided to throw him away once again? He had this beautiful ring, in a little black box. I’m sure you know which one I’m talking about?” she smiled.

Just when you thought the drama was over… ;)
